How old is this kid? He's been at Williams for what seems an eternity. My son did a 5th year and I believe he was at Williams my son's freshman year

Not sure who was/has been at Williams longer...Frank Stola or Mario Fischetti? Must be a Long Island thing  ;D

... my apologies if you ever answered my question last year but ...

... singular name, plural self reference in your posts ...

... what gives?

I asked that question myself several years ago when NM joined the board.

The answer is pretty simple. NM has a number of correspondents at NESCAC schools and also maintains relationships with NESCAC coaches, ex coaches and Athletic Dept personnel as well as relationships at the NESCAC offices. It's a network which continues to correspond with NM and his cohorts as they now have embarked on the production of the weekly NESCAC Football podcasts.

Thanks Lumber! And don't forget our relationships with current and former players throughout the 'CAC.

Looking forward to this week's "9 Weeks" Podcast featuring Coach Mike Whalen and Bantam QB Zander Zebrowski.

I use the term correspondents loosely.   ;)

I was talking with a D3 player from Hobart. Can anyone clarify the Injury and red shirt rules. He stated and again not sure of accuracy that if you are on a roster but do not play all season you still have College eligibility remaining.

I know the injury red shirt rule is if you are hurt before fourth game you can apply for medical redshirt in NESCAC and get back the year.

I did not hear anything though if you are on a roster don't play you are still eligible to play a as graduate student or somewhere else. This does not sound right.

Pat Coleman

If you practice with the team after the first game of the season, you have used your year of eligibility.

The injury hardship standard is as you describe and you can get the year back.

One team that is very intriguing going forward is Bates. I thought they should have pulled the win out at Colby. If they can win 3 of next five game stretch would be amazing. I think they can do it do not know about their injury situation but if they could pull this off would shake up NESCAC.

Hs9-o, appreciate you posting this. Interesting how our human ranking pretty much aligns with the AI.

Hope to see you this Saturday at the tailgate...should be a good crowd as Wesleyan honors one of our teammates and fraternity brothers, All-Time great and All-Decade Judge Matt Nestor, with the honorary captaincy on Saturday.

Love looking at these every week... Also fun to look back and see how close (or not so close) the computer was each week. Last week the computer was 5-0 on picks and within 5 points on margin in 4/5 games! It almost nailed the Williams-Bowdoin game too (31-16 predicted vs 34-14 actual!). Pretty impressive stuff... biggest of the year came in week 3, when it had Wes over Bates 40-0 (oops!)

Colby 20.5, Bates 13.9
Middlebury 19.7, Amherst 14.6
Trinity (Conn.) 28.6, Tufts 12.9
Wesleyan 34.2, Hamilton 6.1
Williams 31.3, Bowdoin 15.5

Took 30 seconds to determine this is his 4th and final year at Williams.

Even though it's just half a point, the computer projecting Amherst to score more than 23 in a game is somewhat surprising considering they've surpassed that total just once over their previous 28 games, dating all the way back to a 24-21 victory over Tufts on October 2, 2021.

However, the lone occurrence of the Mammoths scoring more than 23 points in a game since then was last year's 27-23 win against, who else...? Bowdoin!
