I think if you look deep into your question , you may find your answer . Why didn't Larry Kerhes leave  ? If you have been following. Which I believe you have been You know Larry's reasons . I don't know why some coaches stay,, some move on. I can only give this example . We  were recently on a trip . When I  see a Iowa St. shirt I ask them whey haven't they fired their football coach yet ? My question is totally tough in cheek. I have yet to find a Iowa St. fan that hasn't stood up for Cambell. But the answer that most give me is.    Because he wants to be there. Be a part of the community . Which I believe is a part of why coaches stay at Mount. I asked the same person why he thought Campbell hasn't left Iowa for  more money.? He believed that Matt would be there until his kids had finished school. It's may be just one reason  but it may be one of many reasons that these men stay in Alliance.

I understand your point. If Coaches including the HC want to stay there, then they must realize and accept the fact that opposing teams no longer believe that the Raiders are infallible. You always have to make adjustments, during a game, in the off season and all the time. I wonder if, only the supporters, alumni and former players ( I was one) see this change in the current approach to a winning philosophy. This has been four years in the making, not just this season.

I can see why Coach Dartt stays.  Family ties.  Medical Issues.  Probably a pretty good salary for a D3 Head Coach.  Low cost of living in Alliance.

Coordinators and Assistant Coaches can't be making that much money.  I know of at least one former D3 DC who left college coaching because he could make a lot more $$ teaching and coaching at the HS level.

RE: Injured Cornerbacks for MTU

I went back and looked at the Box scores for the Four Games so far.  The first two games the Starting DBs were:
Sr.   Tony Cook      CB
Sr.   Deuce Parker      CB
Sr.   John Roland      S
Sr.   Brandon Yanssens   S
Jr.   Weston Arthur      SPUR

Then vs BW and Otterbein the only change was Deuce Parker OUT and James Chaney IN at CB.  Chaney is listed as the Starter vs. Wilmington again this weekend.

Were there other injuries in pre-season camp and MTU is missing any other DBs?

I know that he's listed on the stat sheet against JCU, but Deuce Parker did not play in that game.  He was on the sidelines in shorts and a t-shirt.   He's the big loss, best secondary player, all-OAC type CB.  I believe that Curtis got the start opposite Cook against JCU and now he's been moved down on the depth chart.  In the BW game, Papesh was in for one of the safeties at some point but then he got dinged up as well.  The secondary has been playing fine, JCU/BW/OTT all just were dinking and dunking all day.  BW/OTT just couldn't really produce anything much when the field was shortened up in the red zone.

100% correct on the assistant coaches, they are not getting well at all.  That's why it's a little alarming that, other than Junior Collins with the Colts, they have all been around for 4-5 years now

We are safe from the hurricane. We lost power last night at 10:30pm and still out but no major damage.  We are lucky compared to folks south of us.

Tree in front is leaning about 45 degrees and will need to be straightened or cut down.

Glad to hear everyone is okay. Thought of you all often in the last 48 hours, along with the rest of the people of Florida.

Not an overly interesting slate in the OAC this weekend.  Musky @ ONU would be the most competitive game I'd think.

Wilm has 2 freshmen at QB on the 2 deep.  They're also starting freshmen at CB and NT on defense.  Might as well let 'em play and get experience this year.

I'd like to think the homecoming game in Alliance will be uneventful this year. But after ONU in 2021, Capital in 2022, to an extent JCU this year and of course last week, I have learned to know better.

If MTU drops puts up 60+ on Wilmington and shuts them out, does that change anyone's opinion on the Raiders this year?

My gut instinct is to say "more sample size needed," this is election season after all. 😂

It really does depend on what team shows up - the team that took apart a decent BW team in Berea or the team that sleepy walk through Otterbein? If it's the first one, I'd probably feel okay. If it's the second? There may not be enough antacid in Alliance.  There might be a medium or degree in between too - hence the possible need for more info. And maybe that's the answer - the 2024 Raiders are still figuring it out.

Wilmington is not good.  At all.  If they don't blow them out it's a major concern.  I have confidence they'll dominate today.  Of course, everything I just typed I would have said before the game last week too so...

78 points is pretty cool.  19 points by Wilma might be more than they've scored in the past 10 years combined vs Mount

Mount has never given up more than 9 points in a game vs Wilmington, ever
