I had similar thoughts as well

Exactly what I texted my brother when he sent me the video.

SJU13

SJU still at #3 and managed to gain a few points in the poll. Gotta thank the WIAC for keeping the top 25 exciting each week.

On another note, now that we will be saying good bye to the division format any thoughts on which division has been stronger based on cross-division W/L, championship week W/L, etc?

Skyline (or whatever it's called) with Bethel, Auggie & Cobbers is a tougher week to week division IMHO
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

How about that Johnnie Magic (tm) on the weekend?  I woke up with three minutes to play (we were on a weekend away with some friends and I had been a little sauced night before, so...) and said to myself, "Cobbers.  Time nearly expired.  Magic will deliver."

I feel for the Cobbers.  While the Magic so often delivers, it ALWAYS delivers against Concordia.  Especially in Moorhead.  I reckon the Cobbers must be suffering Martin Luther's penance or something.

Agreed...it bites, and the Cobbs have had a couple equal heartbreaks against Bethel in the last 2 decades. I keep going back to the big nail in the coffin pass that essentially won it for SJU this weekend and how close it was to being intercepted, but even that overlooks th Cobbers failure to punch it in from a yard out on 4th down, setting up the final Johnnie heroics. If the had gone for what I'll call the easy 3 instead, I'm curious as to what butterfly effect that might have had on the outcome. We'll never know, but I ponder that decision.

In the meantime, is anyone out there peddling gently used indulgences? ;)
If the human brain were so simple that we could fully understand it...we would be so simple that we couldn't.

Think I saw some nailed to the cathedral door if that helps.

A couple quick points...the St. Olaf record is not something they can be blamed for.  You play the teams on your schedule in the order predetermined, that said their opponents have a combined 7-19 record on the year.  If I'm not mistaken, they had a similar record/situation roughly 5 seasons ago and then faced the juggernaut part of their schedule and it ended poorly for them.  I went back and checked...in 2019 the Oles started 5-0 before playing #10 Bethel and losing 56-10, followed by #4 SJU and losing 54-17, followed by #19 UST and losing 56-7, then Concordia beat them 14-0 and finally GAC won 49-7 to end their season....finishing the season 0-5 losing 215-41

The annual thermostat challenge should have extra credit granted for keeping your AC on and cranking..this morning in Fargo we were 36 (tomorrow forecast is 28) and when I went downstairs with the dog the floor felt a little cool...inside temp was 63 with the system still on Cool/AC mode.  Don't know what will happen tomorrow.

Haven't fired up the furnace yet, but I'm doubtful that we'll make it through the week.  Was 66 when we went to bed last night, 63 this morning, and the daytime temps don't look like they'll do it any favors.

Don't think I'm long for this contest....

65 F in the house when I got up this morning.  Push through these couple of days and it looks to warm again!

Morning trifecta: 1. Remote start on vehicle, 2. Heated seats and 3.
Interior Heat and defrost on

I've also used the space heater in the 3 season porch and the den. Neither of them holds heat very well.

At 10pm last night, I was overruled and the furnace was turned on to get us an extra 5 degrees.

Texas Ole

I'm still running the A/C. It was mid 90s when I went outside a few minutes ago.

St. Olaf has beaten some bad teams. I think you have to look at last year when they struggled. Either every team on their schedule is worse than last year or the Oles have improved significantly. I think it is more of the latter. I don't think this continues when they play better teams, but I do think there is reason for optimism.

Inside temp before you turned it on?

The wife threw an extra blanket on the bed last night, so I should be good for a while.  She hasn't mentioned the f word yet.
