In a word "no."   That wasn't what happened Saturday.

I'm interested in your thoughts on this. From an offensive stats point, the teams were nearly equal (except 2 Ceniti interceptions). On top of that, one UWW TD was a kick return, so 20 points by the offense.

Beating someone one time in 21 years doesn't make you "part of the guantlet."  It does however confirm two things: 1. the law of averages and 2. the blind squirrel theory.

We need better play from the QB position and from the defensive secondary.

Ha, I like it.
They have their chance tomorrow to show who they are.

Speaking of blind squirrels, I'm reminded of UWW's loss to Stevens Point in that odd 2012 season.

Falcons also have chance to show who they are without Blaha

That was the year Brekke was benched for Behrendt. Just saying....

Tell me there is a Behrendt in the wings, please.
We were spoiled w one stud QB after another. Maybe I assumed the golden goose would keep sending them.

So you say your squad was defeated in a 60 minute football game by "blind squirrels."

Take the L and move on. The WIAC in general is a meat grinder. No wins are lucky and no losses are because of the "law  of averages."

Love ya' BW, but agree with BDB on this one. In fact I'm picking them to get the win today against river falls.

Last night was the most dominant game I've seen UWW play. Recognizing Point was over-matched, it looked to me the Warhawks played at a speed and intensity I haven't seen lately. Another kick return for a TD helped get the ball rolling.
Chryst looked to have great control of the offense and made some nice plays via the air and ground. I do think he was fortunate on some plays he wasn't playing against more talented DB's. I hope he is the answer.

I was just checking to see if you and Stout Guy were still with us.  ;)  ;D

Game notes from UWO/UWP game.

Goofy game from beginning to end.
Turnovers killed UWO first half. Lovelace fumbled going into endzone. Barely touched. Touchback. Next drive a fumble by backup RB that resulted in UWP touchdown. Iladvised interception throw from Warren deep into UWP territory to no UWO wr in site. Looked like bad wr route.
Felt like UWO should have been up 17-0 at halftime. Instead down 10-3. Guessing they outperformed on total yds. Felt and looked like it.
Second half started with a nice drive, but freshman QB Cole Warren gets hurt. It did result in TD though
2 big td plays from WRs lead to a 14 point lead. UWP cuts the lead to 7.
Then came the most amazing thing I've ever seen in football. With UWO up 7 and 4 min left in the game, UWO had to punt on their own 30. UWOs punter shanked it for -8 net yards. Basically kicked it straight right. Came home and re-watched the 4th qtr. Turns out the punter blocked his own punt. YEP. As he dropped the ball to kick it, it looked like his hand came over the top of the ball. Long arms i guess. Funniest thing ever.
UWP had a great chance to tie it, but UWOs defense came up big. Especially on that very questionable 4th and 2 play by UWP. I don't know what that was. I don't even think their very good rb was in the game.
Anywho.
It was nice to see London Little getting more involved in the offense. This kid is special on his feet. I believe he took 2nd at the National Championship outdoor meet in the 100M dash. Team also took 2nd.
Trae Tetzlaff sets the all-time reception record (for  UWO) in this game with I believe 181. Should be able to get to 200. Which is pretty cool I guess.
It's going to be fun watching Cole Warren grow these next 3 1/2 yrs. Feels like he's got "it." Kinda reminds me of the path of what Nate Wara, Brett Kasper and Kobe Berghammer went through. Last two of those 3 guys started a few games into their freshman year and didn't look back. I believe Nate is on the staff. TE's coach? Nate led Oshkosh North HS to a state title. Then went to UWO and led them to the playoffs for the first time in what seemed FOREVER. Probably turned the program around into being competitive just about every year.
UWO has got some little things to clean up. But every week they seem to get a little bit better and better as a full team. Hopefully they can keep up this good mojo.
Hopefully Cole comes out of this game ok

After 2day, Stout  still part off gauntlet. They led 27-6 at half. RF started Warzynski, transfer from La Cross. He had been Grey shirt.
