Imagine fielding a Raider football team with the former player talent that was inducted into the M Club this weekend.  There would be some holes to fill [in the other positions], but I could live (and win) with that!
Several looked like they were ready to suit-up and play today!
Congratulations to those guys ... Part of the "Top of the Mount" era.

Notre Dame did something like that in 2009.  Lou Holtz coached a Notre Dame alumni team of players aged 23 - 52 against a Japanese national football team, and won.

Or you talking about a dream team of the greatest players.  I always imagined a team of the best heidelberg players of the last 15 years and still think they would never beat mount  : )

Freshman DB's flashing on special teams mid-season before becoming a big-time player has long been a Mount Union thing.  Krivosh has been dynamic today on kickoff coverage

Surprising OAC score, Capital is leading the Polar Bears at the half 27 - 20  :o

At 45-3, I'm guessing Beaudrie is done.  He is 7-7 today, 15-15 last week and I believe he completed his last pass vs OTT.

I'll do the math for the BW posters, that's 23 completions for his last 23 attempts

Edit: he is still playing and throwing, just threw an incompletion.  Streak ended at 24

Quote from: Dr. Acula on October 17, 2024, 10:03:04 AMSome changes in the 2 deep this week:

Jackson Harris (So) is now NT1 with Cramer NT2.  Harris has been playing quite a bit so not a huge shake up.
Jazz Jackson (Sr) is MLB1.  Cruz still listed as MLB2.
Zack Liebler (Fr) is now listed as a starting CB.
Ricky Levak (Fr) is now S backing up Yanssens.
Darius Hill (So) is WR2 behind Turner.

I don't understand why TJ Deshields keeps being listed at QB2 when he hs no stats and other QBs are getting backup reps.

The "Powers That Be" listened to you! ... He is in the game!!
A lot of hand-offs to Williams, though.

Gotta feel good for TJ punching in a late TD.  With Maloney only playing in 3 games (less than 1/3rd of a season), I wonder if we'll see TJ as the garbage time guy going forward?

Another one ... Quite the young Gunner today.

BWC truly is cursed by God. After a beautiful drive and great throw by the Bubonics kid BWC goes up by two with two minutes to go. All they have to do is execute the extra point and kickoff and they probably win. They don't do either. The extra point is blocked and they kick off to the JCU 40. JCU drives down the field and wins with a minute to go. BWC snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

today was the blueprint for 2024 Mount Union football.  Run the damn ball behind all of college football's most experienced OL and have a few explosives in the passing game.  (Echeverry on the outside seems to be...something) Bottle up the opponent's run game and let Rossy and Kaleb feast on passing downs.  Basically a shut-out for the 1st team D (Berg with the rare -6 yard scoring drive after the botched snap).  The big man rumbling on the fake punt was fun, but that's a few successful fake punt runs against the Raiders in the past year.  All in all, probably Mount's best, most consistent all around game so far this year.

Keep the foot down the next two weeks and let's have an "OAC title game" in Alliance against Marietta (who deserve to be ranked, btw)

I'm pretty sure there's no Redshirting in D3 (unless they've changed that recently), so the 1/3 season wouldn't affect this decision.
