Non-Con's against:

H Wisconsin Lutheran
H Allegheny (Cameron Hospital Classic)
H Lake Forest (Cameron Hospital Classic)
A Baldwin Wallace
H Ohio Northern
H Mount St Joseph (Trine Holiday Classic)
H Millikin (Trine Holiday Classic)
A Wisconsin-Oshkosh (UW-Oshkosh Winter Classic)
A Ripon (UW-Oshkosh Winter Classic)

Pretty good non-con slate, 5 of the 9 were in the NCAA tournament last year (WLU, BW, ONU, Mill, UWO).  Another (MSJ) was 22-6.

It's indeed a good non-conf schedule! Should allow Trine to reach any goals they might have.

Rob Hoffman has been hired as head coach for the Saint Mary's College women's basketball program.  Rob, a Trine University graduate, was the lead assistant coach for WBB at Trine since 2017.  This is a big loss for the staff at Trine but a well deserving opportunity for Rob to take the reigns of his own program.  The Belles may not show improvements in the W/L column right away but you know Rob's teams are going to be aggressive on defense.  Congratulations!

Trine's roster is up: https://trinethunder.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster

One big loss from the roster is Abby Sanner, who was a starter at center last season.  I've heard that she is still enrolled as an undergrad and will solely concentrate on track & field.  It's tough to replace her length at the D3 level.  Most everyone else is back except for Angelina Tringali, who is now running on the cross country team, and Anna Grim.

Calvin WBB posted their roster.

Underclassmen not returning:
Emma Witte: 360 minutes, 182 points
Lauren Vanderstelt: 256 minutes, 73 points
Grace Rosser: 73 minutes, 25 points
Adelaide Douglass: 37 minutes, 11 points

RyAnn Rohrer also listed as "Redshirt"; assuming she misses the year due to injury (but have ZERO inside information on recovery timeline).

It's a mighty tall freshmen class! Which is sorely needed after losing Jemison this year, and Feenstra and Majerus the year before.

Only a true Dutchman can spell Petroelje correctly but have a typo in Hudsonville. 🙂

I guess I was so proud of myself for correcting the misspelling of her name on the roster I forgot check on the rest of the words... :-[

Congratulations to Sidney Wagner on being selected to the '24-'25 D3hoops.com Preseason Women's All-America fourth team.  I expect big things from the Trine squad this year.  They looked good in their scrimmage against USF last week.  We return most everyone from last year's squad (minus the graduation of Giesige, and Sanner focusing on T&F at Trine).  There are 2-3 freshman who will definitely get some minutes, especially Cole and Willems.  Cole did not play like a freshman against USF, she was impressive.  We struggled with free throws in the scrimmage so hopefully that won't be the norm.  Season starts in 9 days with a road trip to Wisconsin Lutheran, who is recieving votes in the pre-season poll.  The non-conference schedule is very good and will really test this squad.

The Hope women are going to be a great pleasure to watch the next four years. Or so it seemed while watching them roll over Aquinas 96 to 60 in an exhibition game.

To my lay eye--anyone else agree?--this is one of Coach Moe's best-ever recruiting classes.

No individual scoring was displayed, but the Richard twins were VERY impressive--athletic, agile for players of their height, and nice shooting touches.
