Cortland 49, Fisher 0 .....final

RDragons call off offensive regulars with 10 minutess left. Register TDs on all seven possessions from the get-go. Boyes 20x25, 373 yds, 4 TD throwing. Final pass 59 yd. scoring hookup with G. Decker. J. AlphonoStjohn 7x160, 2 TD catches and one rush for 44 yd. TD. Cortland 497-154 total yards gap.

Guessing Fisher went all in on stopping the run as most reads were pulled and thrown downfield! 110ish yards rushing seems a bit low this week!

Brockport is on the cusp of the top 25! The game with them was already a big one! Giving them some clout in the polls just sprinkles a little bit more excitement into things! Hopefully the Dragons stay excited for Hartwick this week! Then the fun really begins!

In this poster's opinion, there is little separation between #20 and #40, but I feel as if my Golden Eagles are closer to #40. We should have a better effort than the previous couple campaigns, mostly due to our vastly improved offense via Ben Gocella and Isaiah Simmons (spelled by the very capable Cam Mesh). Our defense year in and year out is our strength, the front seven particularly, so it will be interesting to see the battle of the lines. I would say its Cortland's conference again this year, but the margin is getting closer.

Very early prediction

Cortland - 31
Brockport - 21

Break out the hats and coats! Its getting windy in those Empire 8 bleachers!

I just haven't seen improvement from Brockport then to Brockport now — and I thought Brockport was going to beat Cortland last year!

They had 13 total yards on 13 non-kneel downs in the first half against Susquehanna and went 0-for-8 on third downs. The defense has some gaudy numbers but honestly, they have pitched shutouts against almost universally lousy offenses.

Cortland is such a ruthless machine on offense. Imagine losing your top three WRs from last year, switching your starting RB to WR and it just....not mattering in the slightest.

Cortland 45, Brockport 13

Obvious mismatch in Cortland where RDragons stop Hartwick 68-10. Up 42-0 at half and call it a day for top players who pile up 399 yards to Wick's 37 after 30 minutes. Z. Boyes 18x22, 291 yds., 4 TDs passing. J. Muscarella with 2 TD snares, J. Gallo 2 TD runs. Score every possession till punt just before the break.
Corts 56-0 midway through three frames behind No. 2 qb V. Mazzone (9x12, 150 yds, 2 TDs. Many teams would like him as their No. 1. Meanwhile, No. 3 and No. 4 qbs finish.
Dragons 658 total yards, 464 overhead. J. AlphonoStjohn 7x88, TD receiving.
  Winning streak reaches 20

Brockport with early fourth period TD for 20-10 lead at Utica .....final. GEagles entertain C-land next week

Just a brutal day for Fisher defensively...

Can't stop the pass at all...

31-17 AU...

FisherFaithful03

Fisher needs to stop with the Cover 3 BS. They're not good at it. The CBs are constantly bailing and AU either has the WR break off their route or they run a slot/TE to the outside and the LBers are too slow to get over there...

Just a bad bad showing by the defense...

FisherFaithful03

Down 14 with 12 to play and you're punting?

They've forced ONE punt all day...

What the **** is this staff thinking???

FisherFaithful03

Three turnovers by Fisher in the 2nd half alone...

Just brutal...

FisherFaithful03

Fisher actually played defense and jumped a route for a pick 6...

31-24 AU still

FisherFaithful03

Really glad Fisher burned a time out with 47 seconds remaining to ice the AU kicker even though there was a clock stoppage...

Really could have used it on the next drive when they had to settle for a 52 yard FG attempt to try and tie the game...

Just botched late game situation after botched late game situation for 20+ years now...

Brockport was absolutely looking ahead to Cortland. Good on them for surviving, but struggling to put away Utica is not the way to tune up for the Red Dragons
