Quote from: MUC 2008 on November 02, 2024, 02:29:07 PMThis announcer for Capital corrects himself more than Bill Hillgrove. And he just told on himself about still not knowing about the 2 minute timeout.
He did feel that their quarterback was putting on a clinic after a nice long run.
Unfortunately, the next play he was picked off in the end zone.
Don't think that quarterback clinic is going to be well attended.

I also forgot this announcer said Pierre Garçon wore #11 at Mount. Maybe he has double vision?

Pierre was quite the blur against Capital most years

Another.

Missed.

Field Goal.

Maybe it's because I remember the days of Mike Zimmerman, but what was that, 25 yards?!?

And this and other documented reasons is why my blood pressure is highest on Saturdays than it is all week at work.

Maybe he just needs to be further away?

I think that's the new Mount record for longest FG

Right? School record maybe? Also glad Capital bragged about having 3 cameras on their broadcast team so we wouldn't be shown that kick.

Missed from 22 but makes from 51...

According to the record book it was the longest in school history

Honestly, you are worse than Ohio State fans, which I didn't even think was possible.
You must be a lot of fun to sit with at games, and by fun, I mean miserable.
It's 47 to nothing.
Good. Bye.

Capital's stadium in Bexley with the houses in the background, to me has the vibes of a small town high school football stadium

Thinking the same thing... Having listened to Pat Coleman talks about the wonderful views outside of multiple D3 stadiums, and then there is The Bernlohr.  I remember people laying on blankets on their garage roofs to watch the games.  I attended a game in the late '90s when where were 6-level Little League ballfield aluminum bleachers carried onto a grassy field for the visitors.  Best game was when they played in the Columbus Clippers Triple-A stadium (circa 1998?).

Gotta setup the Wrigley field house bleachers there  ;D

I miss that old Cooper Stadium for the Clippers, lots of memories of my dad taking me to games when I was a kid. While the new stadium is nice, the old one was bigger and had better/more seating between third and first base.

Haven't been to CBus in awhile - did they convert Cooper into anything? I know in Indianapolis the old stadium for the Indians is now high end condos. It is quite unique but super cool.

They tore down half a stadium over a decade ago leaving only the third baseline part of the grandstand, it was going to get turned into like a racetrack, but that project died.  Recently a new project was approved for the site, a mixed used housing/retail plan, and part of it looks like they are going to preserve some of what is left of the grandstand

If it ends up anything like Indy it'll be cool.

While researching some other stuff, how did Nate Kmic have such a down year in 2007 ... a Stagg Bowl appearance year ... sandwiched between national championship years in 2006 and 2008?
 1. 2790 - Nate Kmic (377-2790) - 2008
  2. 2365 - Nate Kmic (336-2365) - 2006
  3. 2349 - Chuck Moore (319-2349) - 2001
  4. 2303 - Dan Pugh (384-2303) - 2002
  5. 1957 - Logan Nemeth (258-1957) - 2015
  6. 1730 - Jeremy Murray (315-1730) - 2011
  7. 1700 - Nate Kmic (274-1700) - 2007
