Quote from: GroundandPound on December 10, 2024, 03:43:14 PMDoes Williams have a sports information department?
Does Williams disdain athletes and/or football players?
A poster to this blog shared the phenomenal news that Tim Forth received an invite to the East West Shrine Game.
In 100 years it appears only one other NESCAC player received such an invite before this year. I believe a Trinity player got an invite in 1955. This year two NESCAC players earned an invite and Williams' Athletic Department apparently wants to keep this a secret.  Way to go Tim!!!

Perhaps, not sure if he has made the invite public or accepted the invite yet, maybe due to rehabing injuries sustained during the season?
But at very least Ephs Sports haven't even made a post about team award winners yet, they seem to take their sweet time.

Already one notable transfer:  Bill's girlfriend is receiving "full support throughout the admissions process"

Cmon Loch, don't post fabrications about BBs girlfriend. Everybody knows she's finishing out her junior year at UNC.

Amazing night last night at the New England Football Writers Captains & Awards Banquet in Framingham, MA. Congratulations to the award winners from Wesleyan: New England D2/D3 Coach of the Year Dan DiCenzo and All-New England selectees LB Ben Carbeau, DB Dylan Connors, and WR Chase Wilson. Dice was the first Wes head coach to ever win this award. Congratulations as well to former Wes WR Logan Tomlinson who was selected All-New England at the D1 level for his efforts at UNH this past season. Logan recently declared for the NFL draft and we wish him best luck at the next level. It was a great night to be a Cardinal! #rollcards

It was also great to see and connect with other NESCACers at the dinner including Mid HCOF Doug Mandigo, UBates HCOF Matt Coyne, and Mid Assistant Dave Caputi. Congratulations as well to other NESCACers who were selected All-New England and were honored at the banquet: UBates RB Ryan Lynskey (at the dinner), MID OL Thomas Perry (at the dinner), and Hartford State K Matthew Jumes.

Congratulations to all of the student-athletes for their accomplishments both on and off the field of play.

Move to Div 3?

Congrats to all the NESCAC honorees for making All-Region 1. 19 total (is that a NESCAC record, Pat?) and 9 teams had players recognized (Amherst the lone exception).

Great question ;D

As maybe the lone die-hard Tar Heels fan on this board I'd love to hear some of these...

Quote from: MapleBBQChicken on December 08, 2024, 10:07:46 PMOn the subject of NESCAC players in the Super Bowl, let's not forget about Stephen Hauschka (Middlebury '07). He won one with the Seahawks in the 2013-14 season and was 2/2 on field goals and 5/5 on extra points in that 43-8 win over the Broncos. He played in the Super Bowl the next year too (and he'd have a second ring if the Seahawks gave the ball to Marshawn Lynch at the goal line ;) ).

Great trip down memory lane of past nescac SB players but let's be real: if Hauschka didn't play a season at NC State , get some Lou Groza recognition, he would have never been invited to a camp and his NFL career would have never happened. Tremendous kicker though and cool he played at Middlebury.

Point taken, but he also wouldn't have gotten his spot at NC State without his success at Midd. Similarly, Logan Tomlinson probably wouldn't be in the NFL conversation without his pit stop at UNH, but I'm sure the board will be (justifiably) fired up if he gets a shot at the next level.

Interesting point. However, there are now a bunch of former NESCACers in scouting, coaching, and player personnel roles in the NFL, including Wes alum Shane Shannell (Director of Pro Scouting for the Bucs and future NFL GM). Shane is well known for liking guys below the Power 4 level. NFL scouts are always looking for that hidden gem. Logan is no secret and those guys would have been all over him even without his success at UNH, IOO.

Congratulations to the all of the NESCAC student-athletes that made the 2024 D3Football.com All-Region Team. 19 student-athletes on the team from the NESCAC is quite an accomplishment. Glad to see that many of our guests that appeared on the "9 Weeks NESCAC" Podcast during the 2024 season made the team. Also happy to see league champion Wesleyan well represented with 4 student-athletes on the team (Mole, congratulations on your son making the All-RĂ©gion Team...well-deserved!). Not quite sure how Wes DB Dylan Connors (1st Team All-NESCAC, All-New England and surely to be in the mix for 2025 NESCAC DPOTY) didn't make the Team but we digress. Big miss by them but we're sure the same could be said about others including at the QB position.

I'm guessing Lutzy gets a look too then? Meaning a FA camp invite.

Congratulations to Chase Wilson on his transfer to UNH and following in the footsteps of his former teammate, Logan Tomlinson. We have no doubt that Chase will be successful continuing his career as a Wildcat. We wish him the best of luck!

Wesleyan has a nice pipeline going to UNH!

I feel like for various reasons it's gotten harder to find information on recruits, but here are a few guys who are committed to Williams for next year.  The team seems pretty deep with young talent at LB, DB, and TE/H-Back.  The Ephs lose a few contributing receivers and Forth from the interior line could use at least one impact player on each unit, but the really big losses are at TB, PK, and DL (a unit where I really like the returning guys but there are only five of them in total returning with a ton of dudes graduating). Plus, the Ephs are potentially still searching for an answer at QB and could certainly use another competitive player at that position.

Here is who I've seen firmly committed so far (updated):

Matthew Harsfield - 6'4 280 OL, Dexter Southfield
Jake Palm - 6'1 195 DB, Reading High
Daven Bailey, 6'4 185 WR/S, Kennett High
Will Axon, 6'5 235 DL, Porter-Gaud (South Carolina)
Jakari Morgan, 5'10 175 LB, King School (CT)
William Kramer, 6'0 165 K/P, Delbarton
Lucas Cardinale, 6'2 180 DB, Delbarton
Jackson Tucker, 6'0 218 LB, St. John's Prep
Connor Acheson, 5'9 190 DB, Andover
Sean Rooney, 6' 220 LB/HB, Fordham Prep
Thomas Sheehan, 6'4 205 WR, Belmont Hill
Jackson Pfister, 6'1 195 WR, Manalapan
Mustafa Mozawalla, 6'1 180 QB, Choate

In that group, some more intriguing talent is added to already deep DB core, there is a potential starter at PK, and a DE who should be in the mix right away at a thin position.  Hopefully some of the guys who aren't yet public include some early impact players in the offensive backfield as well as some more depth on both lines.
