WOW, I wonder what brought that on?

Jeez, gonna start dropping like flies now.  This NIL crap and the transfer portal is going to ruin college sports.  D3 will be looked at as JV football------come out for a year and earn a chance to get on the Varsity(D1 or D2).  Really sad.  I would really like to know the graduation rate from schools that sponsor football(all levels)

But you could get D1 guys who are on the bench and want a chance to play.

This is my thought, the portal is the new age and will give and take. Programs at all levels just have to hope they can add more talent then they lose in the offseason.

But then they play one year at d3 and then move back up to d1 once they get some decent film haha. ETBU's QB is a prime example.

This will be a rough year to try to move up. With D1 imposing roster limits the transfer portal is probably going to get flooded with roster cuts

Ha. It's all going to be a pyramid now. Think of soccer in most of the world. You can start at the top, but you probably aren't going to play. You'll get paid more, if you can hang on to the roster, but you'll have to develop in practice. Or you can start in the middle or closer to the bottom. You'll get paid less, but you'll get exposure. And if you are good in that exposure, you will move up and be valued and paid more.

FBS will poach the best of FCS, FCS will poach DII and DIII, meanwhile kids will drop from FBS P4 to G4, or down to FCS. FCS will drop to DII or DIII.

It's going to suck. But they have to fix this pre-end of season transfer window. It's ridiculous what happened to Marshall and equally ridiculous on the other side the Penn State back up qb.

Welcome to the age of unlimited college free agency. Doesn't it suck?

Prehaps but....Blake Jackson, Jase Hammack, Brandon Jordan, KJ Miller, Kyle King, Markeith Miller, Damian Davis. Some of them are recent some are not but all started somewhere else and ended up doing amazing things at UMHB. The road is going to be rocky but we have done fairly well for ourselves over the years in the transfer market.

I've heard that the portal is making some coaches lazy when it comes to recruiting. Teams are recruiting from the portal and not spending nearly as much time in the high schools. This will help D3, in my opinion, as long as the D3 coaches are still recruiting the high school players. There will be some FCS talent slipping through the crack. But then again, after a couple of years of an FCS talented player getting good film, they're in the portal.

I'm trying not to be the grumpy old guy who resists change. Trying.
