The Athletic's draft guru Dane Brugler mentions Rossy Moore and Luke Lehnen as his players to watch in the Stagg Bowl.

"Mount Union LB Rossy Moore is a difference-maker off the edge (106 tackles, 11.5 sacks). Awesome burst and finish. NFL scouts think he has a legit shot."

Yes ... I was contemplating what D3 players might have the standing to get an invite to a post-season "all-star" game.
Better to follow or guess AFTER the Stagg Bowl and the D3 All American Team is announced (and any others with some media push).
Moore and Lehnen would be front-runners as it is suggested (and I cannot disagree).  A much-desired Logan Nemeth-like 2015 Stagg Bowl performance by Tyler Echeverry could get him a look ... just for S#!+s and giggles ... and/or for my selfish fan desires ...  8-)
My feeble recollection is that D3 players' performance has been mixed as of last participation ... particularly on the offensive skilled position side.

Mount Union's finest, Dane Brugler really going out on a limb with those two as his "players to watch" lol.  Hope Rossy gets a shot at some All-Star games.  I know that we should all be thankful that Lehnen has graced all D3 football fans with his presence while he completes his masters degree, and it's probably d3fb sacrilege to say, but I just can't imagine that there is a place in the NFL for him.

I have a bad feeling this will be a shoot out or one sided. Hoping I'm   wrong but the way JH basically threw all over them in second half is concerning. However the D stood up when it had too but can the D last a whole 4 quarters.

Mount is not going to be facing a JHU style offense in the Stagg.  If NCC is passing every down a la JHU, then Mount has done something right.

Yeah, we have to remember Wayne Ruby and DeAngelo Hardy (as well as Broc Rutter, Andrew Kamienski, Ethan Greenfield) didn't really get more than a sniff from the NFL. Rossy Moore has the atheticism but not the size as an edge rusher/OLB. He is more of a safety type size-wise.

I wouldn't think Lehnen has any shot an NFL look. His speed is worth a look but he'd have to project as a slot WR?

I have the same concerns. The D has the talent and the horses - just like the O - its going to come down to fundamentals, scheme, and adjustments (the 3 the Steak guys didnt mention).
Mount has to tackle well in open field and avoid the ball chopping (running with the guy for 20 yards while trying to strip the ball). The scheme has to decide what we will not let NCC do (a tip of the hat to Gagliardi in 2004), and we have to make them adjust their game to our intensity.

you aren't lying.  D3FB was at its peak prior to covid years, the transfer portal and NIL.  Mount/UWW had a handful of NFL career guys going back and forth and plenty of guys getting "a sniff".  Unfortunately, the portal and NIL here to stay, but hopefully we can get away from 5th and 6th year guys playing D3FB

The guys who finish their careers in D-III and are getting a look at the next level are increasingly offensive linemen. I do hope Rossy gets a shot because he is incredibly talented.

makes sense that the NFL likes OL pushing 30 years old much more than any skill position guys working on their Masters

O-line is predominantly dictated by size and movement skills, regardless of level of competition playing against.  So any guy 6-4, 300+ with the decent shuttle numbers will get a look.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

They were talking about cam ward breaking the td record for a career at 158. And I see plunk had 158 as well. Now did they both play 5 seasons due to the covid year and or 6 years. I know playoffs stats didn't count in the borchert era but if they did he had 189 career touchdowns and over 14000 yards and that's only 4 seasons. Granted the playoff games you could say it was over 5 seasons of games.

This is just Lehnen's 4th year, he's a post Covid guy. Just smart apparently and graduated early

Yeah the career numbers get weird when you factor in playoff runs, there's a bunch of Mount guys that basically had 5 post season games for 4 years so basically 2
Additional full seasons of games to add to their stats!
