Will Jung have to sit out a year before he is eligible to play?

The transfer rules no longer require any sit out period......can play immediately.

Watching D2 semi final-Syverson is better than either of these 2 QBs. Oh for a defense.

Reusse's thoughts on the state of college football from his latest column:

"College football: Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame, just out of long-ago habit. Trying to figure out legitimacy in 18-team conferences is not possible with nine-game schedules.

I'd rather watch St. John's and Bethel (and I do) than the Gophers play Wisconsin with the goal being a tie for seventh in their conference. Penn State game here was good though ... I'll give that to P.J.'s fellas."

Me too, Pat. Me too.

Highest level...apparently you didn't watch many Badger 🦡 games this past fall?  ;D

1. No, I didn't watch any UW-Madison games.
2. Even if Wisconsin sucked (and you know it's bad when the team's official website takes the 5-7 record off the schedule page) they still play at the highest level in playing in a P4 conference.

I feel sorry for that Georgia kid. Here he is all excited to be at the Sugar Bowl, although not suited he's got his jersey on and is right there with the team.

Next thing he gets in the way of a ref on the sideline and a huge play turns into just a nice gain after penalty.

TV did him no favors by zooming in on him a couple times and saying his name and hometown. Wasn't long he was the #1 trend on X.

It was definitely a penalty and needed to be called. But I feel bad for the kid. He's in the Bartman/Cubs zone now.

My football crew was texting during the game and joked that one of our linesman would have likely knocked out the kid with his elbow because he's tall and runs with his elbows up for the express purpose of protecting himself from unauthorized persons in the restricted area.

I ran over a new head coach once. Poor guy (kid?) was about 5'5". He was a wrestler so it was like hitting a pile of bricks. I'm surprised it didn't blow out my knees.

My favorite part of the play from the Sugar Bowl was the slow motion shot where you could lip read Kirby Smart yelling at his sideline to "get the f*** back!"
Sing us a song, you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright.

You didn't have to butter up to Duffman like this. Lot of wrestlers are kind of wimpy.

I feel bad for him and thought of Bartmann too...did you know Bartmann is Notre Dame alum.

It kind of bugged me though that some headlines stated that the referee ran into sideline personnel which is a total BS headline.

Sure -- on Dec. 30 (or anytime between Christmas and New Year's) the committee found that its hosts would not be able to staff the games because of the number of volunteers required to actually put this game on. To have the game on Jan. 2, they would have had to travel teams here on Dec. 30 and have them here over the holidays, and the same with Jan. 3. In fact, if Jan. 3 fell on a Saturday, they would instead host the game the following weekend because the committee does not want to travel teams over the New Year's holiday.

Now I see that the World Junior Hockey Final, US vs Finland, is also scheduled for the same time as the other two big events. FYI, there are 9 Minnesotans on that US World Junior team.
