In today's edition of where are they now?

EJ is averaging 17 points and 5 boards a game and still at Stockton.

Although Kylon Brown may make us forget about EJ, 15 and 18 points in the past two games.

It would have been better to have both, Kylon and EJ.

RIP Dec 12, 2024 Bill Mlkvy at 93. GOAT sports nickname - All-American in Basketball for the Temple Owls - thusly known as "the Owl without a vowel". Played 1 year in NBA for the Philadelphia Warriors before being drafted by the Army as a dentist and serving during the Korean War.
Landmark connection: scored 73 points in a game against Wilkes, including 54 straight.

Yep...
The Scranton men's program falls another 67 feet downward on the Ladder to Hell.
Today our coaching savant starts a young man that has barely received any playing time (and he should have) and he barely plays another who had been starting.
Meanwhile, the kids that carried the team last season continue to sit with minimal to no playing time.

It's clearly time for the AD to have a Dave Occor moment with Danzig & wrap up this nightmare the sooner, the better.  :(

Saratoga,

You'll have to explain the reference for me.

Looks like I need to bring this back...

Scranton scoring offense is 398 out of 407 teams. 399, the powerhouse that is Pratt Institute.

To be fair they are 13th in the nation in Scoring Defense.

Looked like 15 players dressed yesterday; 2 missing probably were Lebinsky and Hanley. Don't know why Ruisi isn't seeing action.
Final possession yesterday(down 1 w 12 secs on the game clock) would have cleared out for Spatola and went with him 1-on-1 against any defender. Will did drive to the hoop instead of shooting 1 of his fadeaways;  hope he does more of that for the rest of the season.

Royals win the consolation game of the Albright tourney 71-59 over the hosts. They did it w defense, stealing a number of passes. Frosh Sam Tornabene had an outstanding game w 9 pts, 7 rebs, and great hustle. Jon Spatola 16 pts, 8-8 FTs, 6 rebs, 5 steals is resembling the player that closed out last season. Kings is the next opponent on Saturday.
Nostalgia corner:  Albright's gym was the site of the Royals' 1st national championship(1976) in the 2nd year of D3 competition. I was there for the semifinal win but not the championship the next night. Thinking that with young toddlers, I could get away for only 1 night instead of both.

So two powerhouses played yesterday at the long center at the University of Scranton.(Kings,Pa.vs UofS )Danzing and his squad  prevailed infront of 10 people 67-61.As we talk about programs hitting rock bottom like the Royals. How does JP Andrejko keep his job also?I'm just sitting here thinking how them gamez packed the gymnasiums  back in the day and to see maybe 20 people is a far cry and tells you that both programs have hit bottom. Honestly more fans attended the Lady Royals in Daytona Beach for the  games then for the men at home.

Why the hell doesn't the Athletic Dept. bring in 2 marketing interns to come up with ideas that will resonate with students, alumni, & the community at large to attend games?

*White out or Purple out games.
Wear that color shirt or sweater & get in free.

*Donation game.
Bring non-perishable food items to support local food pantries & get a free admission.

*Veterans Appreciation Game.
Vets get free admission.
Local Legion color-guard plays National Anthem

*Family Day.
For 5.00 bring the whole family.

*Throwback Game.
Ladies & men wear uniforms for this game resembling those that were worn during their National Championship seasons.

*Five for Five.
Not quite NEPA's proposal for a shot at free tuition but pick five numbers/names each game for a half court shot at 500 hundred dollars.

Personally, I could care less if the men just sit on their hands & do nothing...it's the women that I want to have nice crowds coming out to see play.
Do something!

Great Day to be a Royal

It is as simple as studying other similar size schools. Talk to other athletic depts. How do you get kids invested?  What brings them in? Also, market yourself. Get out and get around campus, promoting, and talking to kids about the team. Have to draw up an interest.

Get local youth nights. Get leagues bring teams, shoot around, fun events. Draw up some local interest, too.
