We did not have a poll in 1998-99, but they may well have been ranked No. 1 in the NABC Top 20. That poll just took the eight regional polls and ordered them, rather than have eight voters who were free to vote as they pleased.

Excited for the matchup between Tufts and Wesleyan this weekend. I can't wait to see Bob Stewart, the D3 Jokic come off the bench for the Jumbos and have a profound impact on the game. Tufts might even have the best 1-2 punch coming off at PG, with James Morakis and Liam Kennelly (with Jackson Patton not far behind). Give me the Jumbos in a tight contest with a 67-63 victory.

Don't forget Trumann Gettings, the D3 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Kid can get the sky hook going

We're a football guy (and Wes football alum) but many of our fraternity brothers were hoops players...it's great seeing my beloved Cardinals mens hoops team still undefeated after beating Hartford State on Saturday (19-0...the only undefeated D3 team in the country) and ranked #1 in the country for the first time. We were there on Saturday and it was almost as good as the football team winning the NESCAC title in Hartford in November. Big game this Friday against the #9 ranked Jumbo's at Wes. #rollcards

NESCACMAN any intel on Shane Regan?  I THINK he has a redshirt injury year of eligibility available?  Could he return for Wesleyan?  Or look to go D1 (I think he can def. be a D1 guy if that's what he's looking to do).

Nice indeed to see Williams pour in some points tonight albeit against a bad defensive team.  Always nice to get a break from NESCAC defenses which are many of the toughest in the country, statistically, this season.  Hudson Hansen has really played well over his last few games and Williams needs him to sustain that level of play. I like seeing Williams play with pace and I hope they continue to do so in league play.  They need to figure out SOME way to get easier baskets, for sure, to avoid these long offensive slogs where nothing comes easy and the team can't find any rhythm or flow at all.

Mumbo - You may need to check the ID of Morakis  :) . He was definitely a HS class of 2021 kid in NY before reclass at prep school.

Regan played just seven games as a freshman, so he could potentially get that year back with a medical redshirt.

If a NESCAC basketball player did an extra year of high school or is old, Stretch4 will make sure to let you know

He may end up with 2 more years, if the NCAA is going to 5 year eligibility. Ryan have you heard if this is going to happen?

The recent legislative meeting passed a motion to allow D3 to essentially opt out of whatever eligibility requirements d1 decides to (or is forced to) go with.  Not having scholarships changes the legal issues at play, apparently.  I suspect you won't see much of this impacting our players.

However, if it ends up that experience outside of d1 can't be counted against d1 players, that would have a huge potential impact, as more athletes might choose to spend multiple years at d3, improving their prospects for d1 play (and earning opportunities).  No one is sure how it'll all play out, but it's conceivable someone could play four years at d3 and then get four (or five) more at d1.

I was just commenting to someone else, the door is definitely open for d3 all americans to get multiple graduate degrees paid for in the future.

He is 20 - will be turning 21 in a few weeks. I agree though, if I am a bouncer I'm letting him in the bar.
