Could lead the WIAC in hair style. Like it. But I like herding chickens.

6'0" Rice Lake PG, Zach Orr, has committed to the Pointers.  I really like his game, quick and plays under control.  He can do a little bit of everything for you.

NPI math:

If the team you beat is not good, can you move up at all?

Example would be Oshkosh vs. River Falls. If Oshkosh doesn't smoke them, they lose points, don't they?

If Point stays close vs. Platteville, still a loss but how bad is it?

Greek Tragedy

If a conference opponent beats RF or ST, the 2 lowest NPI ranked teams in the conference, you won't get much of a bump at all, if any, obviously depending on other results. If you beat La Crosse or Platteville, you'll probably get a significant bump. If you lose to Platteville or La Crosse, you'll drop, but may not drop much. When La Crosse lost to Platteville, they saw a minimal drop. If you lose to River Falls or Stout, you'll take a big hit. I don't think the margin of win/loss matters.

6'6" Downers Grove North F, Bobby Grganto, will play collegiate basketball at UWSP.  A very solid addition to the Pointers, lots of D3 interest for Grganto.  Illinois Wesleyan, Loras, Augustana, Depauw, Wabash, Elmhurst and St Norbert all were announced roster spot offers.  He's a physical 4 man that can hit outside shots, I think that will be welcomed in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

If you beat a team that is not good whether or not you move up depends on how good you are, how bad they are and where that game fits into your resume mix in regards to the minimum wins dial as wins beyond the minimum wins dial that would result in your NPI lowering are able to be excluded. Margin of vicoty/defeat is not a consideration. NPI works strictly on wins and losses.

That's kind of the short answer but if you're really interested in the long answer you could check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrKp8McryUA

Depending on where you look, he's listed 6'2", 6'5" and 6'6".

'95 Blugold

Blugolds shoot 25% from the field in the second half as they let a nice sized lead slip away to lose 60-55 to LaCrosse.

Game still going on, and it's close which is great to see.  But, I'm going to go ahead and say that these refs are terrible.  You can't let Hettinger throw his weight around whenever he wants and then continue to call Krohn for looking at people.  Call it the same stripes.

River Falls beats Oshkosh 14-6 on their home floor in the overtime for their second conference win. Good game. Titans ran out gas looked like. Titans had no answers for Leifker tonight after limiting him to six in Oshkosh.

Greek Tragedy

Not a great night for the WIAC as a whole. Platteville and La Crosse maintain near locks for the NCAAs. Point loses and will surely drop from their Pool C 18 position as a lot of teams near them won. Eau Claire and Oshkosh, admittedly long shots to begin with, both lose. Four regular season games left to make a move or the WIAC will only have two, very strong, NCAA tournament teams.

I'm not an expert on the NPI rankings and how they work but Platteville and La Crosse should move up as Illinois Wesleyan lost twice this week.

UW-La Crosse I believe has never hosted the NCAA Tournament. I think they're in pretty prime position to host given four final regular season games that look easy on paper and IWU women will likely host.

I hope UW-La Crosse can host and puts in a bid. I'm a little nervous they might not bid due to UW-La Crosse scheduled to host the gymnastics conference meet inside Mitchell Hall. I hope they would move the gymnastics to another facility like the indoor track or something. I hope gymnastics doesn't prevent the Eagles from hosting.

Any Eagle insiders have any idea of the plans?

Now you've jinxed it.  Never say what is underlined above.
