Hamilton absolutely humiliates Williams.  One of the worst losses ever for Williams, maybe the most one-sided game I can recall for an essentially healthy Williams team.

First, credit to Hamilton which played an absolutely brilliant game in all phases.  All the big guys who were out last weekend were back which certainly helped them inside.  Morgan was of course great as both a shot-maker and creator, but it was Keyhani (often looks great against Williams) and Ridenout who really killed the Eph defense with some great shot-making.  Hamilton seemingly could not miss with the long 2's tonight, they were on fire. Meanwhile Williams looked totally out of sync from the opening tip, the timing of the offense was just non-existent, very few clean connections off passes and those few that generated good looks just weren't dropping.  But Williams' woes didn't end there, they could not rebound the ball at all and Hamilton won the "battle" on the glass a ridiculous 48-21. The Ephs are not a good rebounding team, but man, that margin is unthinkable.

Alex Lee had a pretty good game and the Belcher/Rein/Yates frosh trio each had a few nice moments, but most of the team struggled in a massive way in every phase of the game, really they were just bullied by Hamilton in the paint.

So, the battle for the last three spots tomorrow comes down to Amherst, Midd, Williams and Colby.  Midd I think is out with a loss to Hamilton.  If a depleted Midd team (both starting guards out today) can somehow beat Hamilton, which would be quite a feat, if Amherst beats Williams, and Colby loses, each of those teams would, crazily, have four wins, and I'm not sure how the tie-breaker would go.  Colby and Williams would both be 1-2 in mutual games and Williams has the tie-breaker vs. Colby so I think Colby with finish out of the running?  If Williams beats Amherst I think they end up in the 6 spot - and then get Tufts on the road as a reward.

Frankly, though, it's hard to see any of those teams doing much in the NESCAC tourney barring a miraculous turnabout, none have shown much at all against the better teams in the league, other than one Williams win vs. Trinity in which Trinity couldn't make anything.

Agree embarrassing what Williams did tonight.

Maine Hoops

Colby will likley lose to #1 Wesleyan today, leaving them at 4-6 in the Nescac.

Bowdoin and Bates are out of playoff contention.

Williams is 4-5 going into today's action.  Amherst and Middlebury are each 3-6.

Williams plays Amherst and Middlebury faces Hamilton.

If Amherst and Middlebury each win, they, along with Colby and Williams will end their regular season with 4-6 Nescac records.

Colby edged Amherst and lost to Middlebury and Williams in league play this year.

If all 4 teams end at 4-6, who is out of the playoffs?

nescac1

Maine Hoops I believe in that scenario Amherst is 6, Midd 7, Williams 8, and Colby out due to head to head tiebreakers.

Maine Hoops

Let's go Williams

I didn't watch a single second of Williams game but can picture how that one played out.

If Hamilton beats Middlebury, it's all moot. Midd, Bates and Bowdoin are out.

Agree Middlebury on fumes too many injuries.
Wouldn't bet against Amherst today, Williams team with that talent lacks something. Now watch Williams blow them out.
Rooting for  Middlebury today, maybe Hamilton takes them lightly, probably not

D3BBALL

Wouldn't count out Colby today. If the shoot it well they have a shot and the freshman Civello might be the difference. He could give Wesleyan some problems.
That being said and with my predictions all season, watch Wesleyan blow them out, lol.

Maine Hoops

Colby down 16 at halftime.

The good news for the Mules is that Middlebury is down 12 with 12 minutes to go.

Amherst up 9 over Williams -- not good

D3BBALL

If Williams, Colby, and Amherst all end up four and six, what are the seeds, does anybody know.

Maine Hoops

It got close but Hamilton finished Middlebury.

Amherst up big on Williams.

Colby getting smoked by Wesleyan.

Colby beat Amherst -- so they get the #7 and the #2 seed?

Worst weekend for Williams hoops maybe ever?  Just rough.  Only bright spot today was Aidan Yates.  Amherst dominated just as Hamilton did.  And Amherst is not good.

I think Williams 6, Colby 7, Amherst 8 because of Williams win vs Trinity.  But not positive.

Disappointing watching a Williams team lacking fundamentals... poor passing and ball-handling, weak guarding post-ups in the lane, sticky ball movement, repetitive offense, too many give-and-go hoops by opponents, lack of consistent rebounding, in short, simply not Ephs' year. Appear a bit burned out now. Will peacefully await the rebuilding now underway .... Good luck to the rest of NESCAC teams the rest of the way.
