Wartburg travelling up to UW-Stout September 13 for a 1pm game.

The Third Division

Whitewater got a new OC. Caden Murphy, previously the OC of NAIA Midland.

And I don't know this but in addition to Nick Pesik, Jace also fired Tim Shields who had been with the program for 7 seasons.

Rather interesting hire. Comes from the same coaching tree as Pesik. Both were GA's under Rod Carey.

Terminology should be similar at least.

I don't see anything in this story that says Shields was fired -- when talking about the employment of people, it's best to keep it general unless an official source uses a specific term.

Interesting. Looks like he has two seasons as OC. Not sure if he played at all.
I checked out a quick video of a game V Doane, he runs motion most plays, no pre-snap shifts that I saw. Stats show a pretty balanced offense w 373 rush attempts and 316 pass attempts.
I wish him well.

Quote from: PauldingLightUP on January 29, 2025, 02:17:39 PMComing over from CCIW board, Oshkosh is at NCC week 2.

Going to be a total 180 for the Titans in 2025, who had three nonconference home games in 2024 and are going to have three nonconference road games 2025.

It is expected Oshkosh will return the game to Michigan Tech week 3.

Maybe only saving grace is they had three conference home games in 2024 and will have four in 2025.

Unfortunate they couldn't get NCC to come to Oshkosh in year one of the home and home, but sometimes you have go on the road first to make the agreement work.

Actually I got bad information this fall about the Oshkosh-Tech series. Michigan Tech posted their schedule and it doesn't include Oshkosh. Oshkosh will host a game September 20, opponent TBA.

Ex-Dubuque coach, Miles Hookstead, has been added to the WARHAWK staff as tight ends coach.  Hookstead, a former Whitewater HS athlete, had an excellent playing career at the position and has coached it for a number of years.

Yeah. Until proven otherwise, not sure why the 2025 team w a new QB, OC and DC should have higher expectations.

But hey, the 2007 team had a new QB, OC and HC and snagged championship number one.

UWEC schedule is posted with non cons vs Carroll, at Kenyon, vs Martin Luther.

4/8 WIAC schedules now out, which is pretty good before the end of February.

I agree, why not? Redshirting becoming a WIAC only thing again should really help out.  Whatever it takes to stop this NCC slobfest

UW-W news: newly promoted Blake Smithback (offensive line coach) has accepted an assistant coach position at the University of Illinois.  Congratulations Coach Smithback! I've not confirmed, but I'm hearing that newly hired Miles Hookstead (Most recently the offensive coordinator at Dubuque) will take over as the O-Line coach.
