Quote from: D3BBALL on February 28, 2025, 01:17:10 PMI would say this Emory has the best big man I have seen all year. Everybody in the NESCAC would have issues guarding him. That being said to say dominate and include Chicago and Wash u, not so sure.
I have said in earlier post that if nyu and Emory were in NESCAC no way Wesleyan would be undefeated but I also think nyu and Emory would have more losses. Would I give a slight edge to those 2, yes but not dominate. Tufts/Trinity IMO would have no issue with Chicago or Wash U.
Emory did not dominate Middlebury or Bowdoin.
Hopefully we will find out in the next few weeks.

Emory's big against nescac teams:
vs Midd: 5p 5b 2-6 fg
vs Bowdoin: 13p 6r 4-12 fg
He was far from dominant against nescac opposition. Seems to disprove "Everybody in the NESCAC would have issues guarding him"

The lamest argument in D3 men's basketball is UAA vs. NESCAC.

Sorry, it's played out and doesn't mean anything anyways.

Pick specific games, thats an objective way to look at things. They won both those games by 10 points.
Conference play 13 games, 30 minutes per game, shot 46%, 34% from 3, 9 Rebounds per game, 34 blocks, 15 points.
Clearly someone that is easy to guard!

You did mention that NESCAC would have trouble guarding him. You were given two examples of two games against NESCAC opponents that frankly, weren't very good this year and he did not perform up to his capabilities.

Not doubting this young mans talent as he clearly has it, but you giving his numbers in conference kind of validates the point that others are making, which is the NESCAC is better than the UAA. Frankly, it doesn't really matter who is the better conference. The only thing that matters at the end of March is who is holding that Walnut and Bronze trophy, not which conference is better top to bottom.

First I said twice, teams would have issues with him, based on me watching him a number of times. I said he was the best big I saw all season, I didn't say he was the best big in the country or that his play was so good they couldn't lose.
I could take 2 games for Regan, Gyimesi, Morgan, Vetter in conference  play and probably 2 out of conference and show not so great stats and I guarantee you that the opposing teams  going into those games knew those players were going to cause them issues. Some of those games against the bottom NESCAC teams. So to take 2 games against sup par teams and then not take his 2 games against nyu where he was very good, a team ranked #2 at end of year taints the sample and discussion. Would I want to rate someone against elite teams or below average teams?

On the who is better conference, I agree doesn't really matter. The top teams in both conferences would be tough to  play. Who wins in NCAA is most important.
What is each conference record against each other the past couple of years? UAA NESCAC challenge. But even that is hard to quantify as it doesn't include all teams each year.

Enough of the NESCAC UAA chit chat. D3>D2 hands down

If I can brag about Williams' former assistant coach Mick Hedgepeth. Mick was the HC at Sewanee and Berry after leaving Williams and last year got the HC job at D2 Alabama Huntsville. In his first year, his team lost their first game and have now won 27 in a row. They won their league 22-0. What a way to start your new coaching gig!

If you are referring to the Super Bowl in which he predicted an Eagles blow out. Don't forget who was heavy on the eagles ;)

33-31 Hamilton at half. Both teams making tough shots, great d on both sides

Morgan with the pull up at the buzzer to send it to OT.

Curious if it is just me, or everyone... The NSN broadcast audio is ahead of the video by about 2-3 seconds. Makes it almost unwatchable
