BTW, Pfeiffer (NC) won the USA South today.  While I'm positive they'll travel, I think it'll enter into the calculus for where first round games are held.

My friends and I were talking about this during the game today (I was there).

RC 7 of 17, GC 15 of 16

Yep that will lose it for you. I'm happy we got there but sucks to lose it.  Guilford was the better team today. Most of us said almost all season that the ODAC race was between 5 teams (HSC, RMC, Roanoke, VWU and Guilford) and it's only fitting that the 5th seed won it all. Should be interesting how many teams the ODAC gets in and where they will be playing at. Go Maroons!

Roanoke is certainly deserving of a good placement.

Re FTs, GC lost to a good Belhaven team this year 56-53 when we went 6 of 15 from the line.

If I remember correctly,  the NCAA controlled the viewing options for football playoffs and it was on a pay for view.

Is that going to be the case for basketball as well?

The preliminary basketball rounds up through the national quarterfinals (Elite Eight) will be available for free at the DIII level on the NCAA Championships Pass app and NCAA.com.  You can get the NCAA Championships Pass app on Roku TV and other streaming TVs, as well as other streaming devices.  The Division II tournaments, on the other hand, charge a PPV viewing fee for the streams of their basketball regionals on that same app.  The national semifinals and championship games from Fort Wayne (men) and Cregger Center (women) will be streamed on ESPN+.  (ESPN Plus).  Dave McHugh will be on the call (I don't know if he got the PBP or color analyst on that team) for the men on the ESPN+ feed.

d3hoops is predicting that Hampden-Sydney (NPI seed #10) and Roanoke (NPI seed #21) will both host a first-round group.  RMC (NPI seed #5) would certainly be hosting a first round, except that their women have priority for Crenshaw this coming weekend. NCAA selection show is coming up at 12:30pm.

Guilford travels to Emory, with a first round game against Berry.  They would not face another ODAC team until the Final Four.

Roanoke travels to CNU, with a first round game against Pfeiffer.  RMC travels to Franklin & Marshall, with a first round against Westfield State.  If the Maroons and Yellow Jackets win their first weekend pods, they will meet in the Sweet Sixteen, which might be at Trinity (Conn).

Hampden-Sydney hosts, with a first round game against Bryn Athyn.  Pitt-Bradford and The College of New Jersey are also coming to Kirby Fieldhouse.  The Tigers wouldn't face another ODAC team until the national championship game.

Kudos to the selection committee for separating the ODAC schools well.  The Tigers might get a scouting report on Bryn Athyn from former Tiger Josiah Hardy.  He did a graduate year at Cairn and played BA twice.

As to first round ODAC games, I think HSC got the easiest match up, while GC has the toughest.

HSC got to host, but their students are on spring break the next two weekends.  May diminish the home court advantage.

Good luck to all ODAC teams!

Lacrosse and baseball teams will be on campus.  Lacrosse has an away game Saturday, so they likely won't be back, but baseball will probably come out both days.  Last year, a lot of guys remained on campus for the games and then left as housing allowed students to stay to attend the games.  I do think the student support section will be decreased, but I still think they will come out to support the team!

If HSC wins the first two games, they are likely headed to NYU for a neutral site game with Tufts.  A whole lot of things can happen though.  That is why they play the games.  Good luck to Guilford, Macon, and Roanoke in the tourney.  VWU appear to have been two spots out of making it in according to NPI.

That would likely be the case, if NYU also wins their first 2 games.

However, I'm still not clear on whether the NYU men or the NYU women have the priority on hosting the second weekend.  The women have the priority the FIRST weekend.  Do they continue to have priority the SECOND weekend, or will the NYU men have priority the second weekend?

Men have priority second weekend this year.

Thanks for the info, el_jefe_90.  That's good for the Yellow Jacket men!

Only if Trinity loses.  Otherwise, YJs head to Connecticut.
