Quote from: Captain_Joe08 on March 08, 2025, 10:24:58 PMFirst time since 2016 that an NACC team is in the Sweet 16. I am ecstatic.

If memory serves correctly, 2016 was the year that Benedictine IL got all the way to the final before losing big to St. Thomas-MN.

Even after waking up today. I am still in a state of disbelief....we really made the Sweet 16!

Game day vs Wash U in La Crosse.

No common opponents between Wash U and WLC this year and the Bears are 2-0 against WLC all time. Gonna be a close game regardless.

Wisconsin Lutheran 47
Wash U 47

6:34 2nd

WLC was down by 11 twice but the Warriors nail back to back 3's to force a Bears timeout.

After needing the night to gather my thoughts I have to say this:

As you all know I am a WLC alum who saw many years where the Warriors struggled to compete (back to back 5 win years my third and fourth year there) and the slow rebuild back to relevance in the NACC. Going 4 straight years as regular season NACC champs the last few years was a sign of the rebuild was complete and the foundation was set for years to come. This season cemented that in many ways.

For WLC, this was a historic season. Broke the record for most wins (27), 29 straight home wins, Best winning % (.874), beating the highest ranked opponent in history (#2) and many more. It sucks that it had to end yesterday especially in a game that was for the taking until the very end. These Warriors never gave up when they got down big throughout the season. This senior/graduate class set many records personally and will live forever in WLC MBB lore. Next year will be a definite step back but with all the players that saw time throughout the year, the experience will hopefully drive them to continue the run of success in the NACC.

WLC names Jeremiah Hoffmann as Skip Noon's Successor at AD: https://wlcsports.com/news/2025/3/17/general-wlc-names-jeremiah-hoffmann-as-new-director-of-athletics.aspx

Not sure what to make of this but it's gonna be hard taking the reigns over for Skip. Lot of experience running Basketball and Golf programs.

In my few interaction he's a good guy, a good hire IMO.

I believe so too but will be interesting to see where Warriors Athletics go from here with him at the helm.

So far WLC has had some good moments with their athletics so far this year.

Women's Soccer made their first ever conference tournament appearance.
Football tied their mark with most wins in a season in program history.
MBB I have already talked about.
WBB made the NCAA's again.
Men's Volleyball is in the midst of their best season ever in their young program.
