Some final thoughts on the Lady Royal's season.

Congrats to Ben, his staff, all the players from 1 through 17, their parents, family, friends & UofS students that supported them all year.

Not quite getting to the Final 4 is a letdown but never let it diminish all that was accomplished again this season.

Trust me, there are over 400 plus teams in D3 that would trade places with you in a heartbeat.

In particular, I would like to thank the men's LAX coach & his team for showing up in force for both Sectional games as they were the only athletic team still on campus during the break.

One suggestion for the future...if baseball, softball & women's LAX are heading to Florida, they don't get to fly out until Sunday so they can be on campus to support the women's basketball team in the Sweet 16 & Elite 8 games going forward.

Regarding the game itself...it was a pretty epic battle between 2 very good teams.
Scranton only got to shoot 7 free throws (7 for 7) although they were getting hacked, bumped, and on the receiving end of push offs all night.
Meanwhile, Stout got to the line 22 as in 22 times!
One category the Lady Royals led in uncharacteristically was turnovers with 18 while Stout had just 8.
Between 15 more foul shots for Stout & 18 chances to score lost via turnovers, it just goes to show how hard Scranton played to only lose by 4 points.

Again, fantastic year by the Lady Royals & wishing the 2 Seniors & 3 Grad. students all the very best as they get set for some new adventures in a world filled with additional challenges & uncertainty.
If they tackle the future as they did the past 4 to 6 years, we'll all be better off.

Thanks again ladies!
Enjoy...

While an interesting idea, I don't think you'd get a lot of coaches eager to hamper their own season in order to possibly be present for a hypothetical Elite 8 game.

I think it's much more likely to get spring break adjusted so that it falls on a different week.

I agree.Best thing to do is move  spring break up to the last week of February!!!

Yeah why would the school move a spring break for one hypothetical basketball game? It isn't like the students show up for the majority of games.

Saying  no one was on it doesn't mean I think someone should be on it.

Then why bring it up,If you didn't think someone should be on it? Especially on the womens board.

Will McLoughlin was the only multi-year(2025,2023) Landmark 1st teamer not to make all-region this season after being all-region previously(2023). Should have merited serious consideration.
