Thank you, GT, for your always excellent analysis.

I have followed UWL basketball for more than 50 years and I haven't seen anything like the energy and enthusiasm I saw last night since the 1970s. Big crowd. Big time atmosphere. Big comeback. Thrilling.

Aiden Hawkinson 6'2 G from Waupun committed to UW-Oshkosh this morning.

Quote from: Greek Tragedy on March 15, 2025, 04:14:12 AMOutside of an injury, I don't think any seniors are eligible for a 5th year as this was the last year of the so-called free COVID year. I could be wrong though. That's why I basically noted who were seniors, assuming none are returning.

I'll leave it up to tomt4525 to post the recruits and incoming transfers etc.

Off the top, may look like this:

La Crosse

Oshkosh/Stevens Point

Platteville

Whitewater/Eau Claire

Stout/River Falls

Greek, I think Eau Claire will be way higher, certainly in top four home game territory. From what I saw this year I'm a big believer in Renta the job Malvik has done already.

GT--any transfer risk in the WIAC....specifically rumors floating around Point.  I don't see why but these are not always logical decisions.

Also, any grad transfers with eligibility who could attend a WIAC grad program?  Business or engineering add-on to current degree?

PauldingLightUP,

I get it. I mean, they were picked last and finished 3rd. I was basing the rankings on the fact that they lose 3 of their top 4 guys and 5 of 7. Yes, Renta is very good. I don't know who they are bringing in, so someone has got to finish lower.

Another good crowd and a good effort from the Eagles, but no final four this year. Thanks to all the players and coaches for a memorable season. Congrats to a fine Wash. U. squad.

It was a great atmosphere all weekend!

You could argue Renta was the best player in the league. I only saw him a few times, but it was clear the team was trying everything to stop him. He created wide open shots for teammates and was able to get by 1/2/3 defenders. Pearson is good, but the team loaded. UWEC will need help.

Also, interesting...

"The play felt like it was a long time coming for the 6-foot-7 senior, who had to play JV last year after being deemed ineligible to compete in varsity sports by the WIAA following his transfer from Plymouth."

The WIAA is located in Stevens Point and we live nearby.  Lots if these issues and every time they seem like they are the keystone cops.

Been informed by Tomt4525 that Tyler Orr is in the portal. Tyler is Pointer commit Zach Orr's older brother. He was at Winona State. Has 3 years of eligibility left.

Just catching up after a busy Saturday.

Many congratulations to Tim Windler, David Gawrisch, and Darren Budhan on officiating the national championship game.

That was awesome to see. I thought they called a good game and let the physical play happen like a normal WIAC game.

Also fun to watch a handful of WIAC regulars officiating the WIAA state tournament. WIAC regulars Jeff Fern, Marques Tyler, Kenny Cyracus, and Steve Luebke all with assignments along with women's regulars Steve Matuszewski and Tim Widker doing boys games.

Greek Tragedy

Yeah, there were a few comments on Twitter commenting on the play, "It looks like a WIAC game." Not sure if they knew they were actual WIAC officials.
