That's a great non-con pair.  I think Rowan is on the upswing and that's a really nice interregional game.

^ Just found the Box Score of the last time the two teams played against each other in 2008.
https://athletics.case.edu/sports/football/stats/2008/wabash/boxscore/1228

Case took the lead with 1:52 left in the 4th quarter, then Wabash overcomes a 4th-15 and proceeds to drill a 52-yard touchdown pass to win the game with 0:48 left ... to advance in the playoffs:

That's an awfully tough non-conf schedule.  I'm worried that CWRU is losing a lot from this year's team and will be rebuilding.  Perhaps they should have looked for softer matchups, you know, like Oberlin and Earlham, or some such!

ADL70

Earlham dropped football several years ago.

Oberlin football is on life support. Last season they only had 7 FYs. And even if all 30 of the past season's underclassmen return, they need at least 20 FYs this fall.

As in 2022, Spartans will travel to Italy and play an exhibition game. I understand that this allows for more spring practices and at least some can be in full pads. That should

Rowan was 6-4 in 2024. Their NPI rank was 74. CWRU's 91.

I think opening with three challenging foes will be better than opening with six relatively easy games like 2024.

St. Francis moving to d3. They will become the PAC's 12th member in 2026.

Students on Athletic Scholarship will still be on scholarhsip through 2027-2028 academic year.

St. Francis will not be eligible for PAC championships or playoffs until 2029.

Per a source who knows a kicker at St. Francis "Almost the entire team is gonna transfer."

"competition beginning in 2026-27" "Saint Francis will not be eligible for PAC Championships or compete in Conference Championship Tournaments in basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, lacrosse, baseball & softball until they are approved for active Division III membership by the NCAA. Red Flash programs in sports such as cross country, golf, swimming and diving and indoor and outdoor track and field will be able to compete at PAC Championships starting in 2026-27 but will not be eligible for all-conference recognition."

"the league's 13th full-time member."

Football is not mentioned. Unless it drops football, it should be 12th football school and the  two-division format planned before CMU left could be reinstated.

Current athletes on scholarship can remain on scholarship through the 2027-28. Incoming 2005 freshmen only through 2026-27.

The Third Division

Frank Rossi asked the PAC and says they're keeping their football program and they cannot be eligible for championships in football until the reclassification to d3 is complete in 2029.

DagarmanSpartan

Ya know, I can only assume that their current 65 scholarship football players will all have to attrit, with non-scholarship level jocks recruited in their place.

I am guessing they'll still be awfully strong in their first season before their talent (non-scholarship) begins to even out.

At only about 1600 undergrads, they must be among the smallest schools in all D1-FCS football.  I am guessing Wofford would be one of the few schools that is smaller.

DagarmanSpartan

So anyway, with 12 football members, will the Presidents' be, in effect, the REAL "PAC-12?"

 ;)

Pretty obvious there.

Where did you see that they have 65 scholarship players?  FCS programs can offer 63 scholarships, but they are allowed to split scholarships among multiple players.

Through the 2024 season St Francis' conference NEC only allowed 45 scholarship equivalents
