Lance Nelson is graduating from North Park in May. NPU is moving to the all-online format for a lot of its graduate programs, which means that the opportunity to finish one's athletic career as a graduate student will be significantly reduced going forward at NPU. Thus, Lance will be moving on to seek out a place to play his final season of eligibility as a grad student.

Hampton Sanders is entering the transfer portal with two years of eligibility.  With rumors that Klatsky is likely headed to D1 (rumored now as an assistant at Florida) plus NYU now set to lose its top seven guys without a large pool of 5th years guys to pull from as a potential replacements, NYU may have one of the most dramatic drop-offs we've seen for a team that made a national title game ...

I'm too lazy to look, but I'd like to know if there was ever a team to win the Naty, get the #1 preseason ranking the following year and then miss the tournament. Point had a big drop-off after they won the 2015 Naty. They finished 14-12.

This year I believe Trine was preseason number 1 and didn't make tournament

Agree and Sanders at the final 4 was by far the NYU best player and was going to be mvp until trinity came back and won.

Between the significant number of sophomores and juniors entering the portal and the new roster limits for schools that opt-in to the settlement, NYU and Case Western Reserve could pick up a bunch of undergraduate transfers.

For NYU, if Hampton Sanders does transfer, the Violets will be one of the crazier rebuild stories with really only Bryan Moussako (13-15 mpg, 4 ppg) and Quinn Clark (injured this season) returning from the rotation.

CWRU may be even crazier with freshman Matthew Ellis (17 mpg, 6.5 ppg) leading the way from the rotation.  No other returning player averaged more than 11 minutes per game.
