A Canadian beer has been forced to pull an ad that states "The average woman speaks 10,000 words in a day. Roughly 9,950 too many." as the lead for its campaign.

My wife is way above average in this category, I am thinking.  :-X

Since my present plans for Sunday afternoon involve mixing up a batch of brew out in the gee-rodge, you fellers have inspired me with a name for this batch: Eelpout Ale.
See Duff, at least I'm putting my science knowledge to good use.

Nice work, Fins!  Will you be brewing a special lager for our first game next year?

A tradition unrivaled...

Can we hire fins to look into this? I don't understand what the problem is...
Reminds me of one I heard today...
A survey of men on why they like oral sex:
3% said they liked the warmth.
4% said they liked the sensation.
93% said they liked the silence.

TDT hasn't been heard from since the new SI came out...is he too "busy" or what?

This from a guy that has 1159 posts to my 68! ;)  ;D Maybe that's the problem, I say the words, you guys just type them out on Post Patterns!  :D Hmmm, maybe if your wives engaged you all in conversations about Hamms, you would be more chatty!  ;D

The comment about Schmidt's immediately reminds me of a SNL skit with Farley, Adam Sandler and David Spade.  That is an unfortunate marketing occurrence.

Stanc- it's really up to you.  The fly in weekend will be nice in that the admissions office will have specific things going on and you'll have the chance to meet others from around the country that also fly in.  But coming up a different weekend is nice because you have a little more flexibility to see things outside of the admissions schedule.  You can't go wrong either way-- you can choose what you're most concerned about in either fashion, so again, it's really up to you. I would echo the comment that you make plans to meet with Gagliardi/Fasching before you go-- that way you'll be set to do that.  If you come in alone it also offers you the chance to explore the campus/St. Cloud/Twin Cities on your own, which may appeal to you.

Either way you choose, let us know on the board-- if you're coming with we'll be sure to have the Hamm's on ice for when you get here!

I think your karma level says all that needs to be said in response, bennie  ;)

I'm curious...what do you suppose the beer company's 50 allotted words for women each day were? Think we can figure them out? :)
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

wife (to husband) "hi honey, how was your day?"
husband "pretty good, bout to get better in 44 words"
wife "what?"
husband (opens beer) "43"

yes that joke was based on the premise that the woman didn't speak a word all day, but guess what? shut the hell up and laugh.

Buckman

Only because my wife is so supportive and really understands my needs as a man her 50 words would be "Yes Dear" 25 times.

Pretty much everything is on ice there in March, isn't it?  We lived in Nebraska for a couple of years and one month (Dec. 83) the high daily temperature never got above zero, so I've been through some of that.  (That same year they also almost set a new record for continuous days of snow on the ground.)

I'll let everyone know when we set it up.  Can't remember the last time I had a Hamm's, but I can still remember the ads.

OK Chris and all you other big talkers out there who think you've got a big pair, try whipping out a copy of this "Contract of Wifely Expectations" for your wife to sign. (noticed on my recent visit to 'Gro's neighborhood LLPP). Keeeryst, surprised this dude's still alive.

Fins, I really need to quit listening to BC at work.  He talks like that all the time but I have a feeling those aren't really pants that he's wearing.

Anybody planning on heading to Collegeville tomorrow?
