Fins, I really need to quit listening to BC at work.  He talks like that all the time but I have a feeling those aren't really pants that he's wearing.
Anybody planning on heading to Collegeville tomorrow?
Ha! That does sound like him now that you mention it.

Frankrickard and I are, we're meeting at the La at 1:00. The first round of Hamm's is on me.

Anybody see Ritz lately?

Stanc, as you have probably already discovered if you went to the website mentioned above, the Stiftungsfest is the oldest celebration in Minnesota. It was started in 1861. I grew up in Norwood, which was the town just to the south of Young America, the latter being the host community for the Stiftungsfest. The two towns were merged into one in 1997 and it is now called Norwood Young America. Leave it to those Germans to be so original. ;) The celebration is always the last weekend in August. One of the attractions of the celebration is the famous Stiftungsfest burgers. They are phenomenal! I work the hamburger stand on the Friday night of the celebration. This past year they sold 10,000 burgers at the celebration.

The Stiftungsfestivities is the name for the tailgate parties that were started in 2001 when Bethel came to Collegeville to play the Johnnies. Of course we all know who won that game. While I hate to admit it, the name "Stiftungsfestivities" was suggested by a Bethel fan on this board. It is now part of D3 football lore. One of the main draws for the tailgate parties, in addition to appearances by Duffman, Kilted Rat, Touchdown Tommy, OneArmedScot, Veek, the Webmaster, the Webmaster's bro, Red Hot Bennie and almost everyone else on the MIAC board, is the serving of the Stiftungsfest burgers from the Mackenthun & Wischnack meat market in Norwood Young America.

The last few years we have expanded the Stiftungfestivities to such exotic places like the Stagg Bowl in Virginia, Bethel, the University of St. Thomas and Wisconsin-Whitewater. The burger has been shipped to North Pole, Alaska to help a member of the `99 PLU national championship team enjoy even more his pre-wedding party.

There you have it. Assuming your son will be a Johnnie this fall, you would certainly be welcome to join us for the Stiftungsfestivities prior to the games.

I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.

-K to Frank for being a smart ass.  Likewise to KR and Willy for "complimenting" his diss.  We all know who was wearing the 30 million dollar bikini.  TDT is gonna go out on a limb and say that this issue of the Swimsuit Issue is the best ever produced.

80 degrees here today.  I just got hit on by a hot little 32ish babe at Starbucks.  I still got game fellas, still got game.

FYI: So I was lounging around this morning in my underwear and watching the boats cruising by while the babes were getting all oiled up.  Happened to channel surf past ESPN2, well all be damn, TDT came across a reporter on Leech Lake at the Eelpout Festival.  He seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself among the events including ice car racing, jumping in the water, and eating the scrumptous deep fried eelpout.  Appears to me that MIAC PP has nationwide appeal.

TDT, good to see the EelPout Festival get some national recognition. Evidently they did not allow any cars on Leech Lake last weekend for the event. My brothers said attendance was down somewhat because of that.

Next social event is the BockFest next Saturday at the Schell's Brewery in New Ulm. Hopefully it will have warmed up by then.

And don't forget the MIAC basketball playoff championship Stiftungsfestivities next Saturday afternoon. OAS is predicting that it will be at St. Thomas. Starting time is 4:30 p.m. It will be in the parking lot of the host school. All the burgers you can eat. Bring a culinary delight to share along with the beverage of your choice.

A recent Karma check reveals FrankRickard and Duffman standing on the verge of the century mark, I just K+'ed them both to take them to an even 99.

Who will be the next to the illustrious(sp?) century mark?

A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Thanks, Foss!

I'll probably have plenty of liquid warmth in me.

Good to see TDT has made his daily smite rounds hitting Duffman and myself.... so much for my goal of having more positive karma than TDT's negative!

Duffman, I would give anything to be in New Ulm next Saturday drinking a cold Schell's bock beer. I will be floating between Ridder Arena at the U of Minnesota, Xcel Center in St. Paul and the parking lot at the University of St. Thomas (assuming the Tommies win their first playoff game this week).

While I was in Boulder last weekend I was introduced to a local beer by my son called Fat Tire. Not too bad. My son was in town skiing. I'm sure this was the first beer my son had consumed in his life since he just turned 21 on January 5. I know they are very strict in Madison, Wisc when it comes to underage consumption.
