Maxwell - how could he leave BOLD, home of Flann, Fischer, and Albino Tom Osthus?

Not to mention, home of Brent Vogt! :D

I broke a bottle of Heineken while working today...it pained me to waste that good beer...I can only imagine how I would have reacted had I broken any Hamm's...although I hear they make the cans out of military grade titanium alloy so I think I would be safe.

Congrats to Kurt Ramler and his new Carleton Knights.  They picked a good one.  I hope to see them finish well in the conference--- behind the Johnnies of course-- but certainly ahead of the Tommies!

What is it with Carleton and their desire to pick Johnnies as their coach?  Sullivan did pretty well, and hopefully Ramler will too.

Go Johnnies, past, present and future!

esq...it must be a tribute to Gags. I listened to the interview between Ramler and the Knights radio announcer and he said he would lead his team in the way of Gags. He would change some things but for the most part he will run things how Gags ran his squad. No pads in practice and no hitting......stuff along that line.

Maxwell with a fungo bat is a scary thought.  Even scarier is the type of people they give teachers licenses to now a days (see Flann, above)  ;)

From what I understand he is still teaching at BOLD and has his same Jr. High FB duties, but he is the Skipper in BL/H...very scary.

I missed posting this the other day from Shooter:

)Legendary St. John's football coach John Gagliardi recommended Kurt Ramler, who was a standout quarterback for him, as the new head football coach at Carleton College. Ramler's hiring was announced Wednesday.

"While Kurt was with us, we won four straight conference championships," Gagliardi said. "He's a heck of a lot more qualified to coach than I ever was when I got this job (in 1953). He'll do well, I'm sure. But I can't worry too much about him; I've got to worry about me."

) Macalester College received 83 phone calls of inquiry in three days after posting an opening for a football team coordinator.

For all of you heading to New Ulm for the weekend, I came across another event there this weekend.  It is simply called a 'Fasching'.  Here's the link:
http://www.newulmtel.net/~municipal/concords/fasching.html

However, I don't think it is in honor of Gary nor do I think he will be making a guest appearance.

johnniepress

Ah yes, Fasching, the German Mardi Gras....

I'm sorry.

He was okay when the beer can was physically touching his lips and he was unable to talk about himself...  ;)
