But I know that the most important thing that I am taking from this experience is the relationships I am forging with my teammates.  When he describes the WWF nights at the different guys' apartments, or the collection of autographed pictures that Tommy Linneman has, those are the things you will forever remember from the MIAC (johnnie) experience.  So, though your son might not get the relationship stuff with the wife and family part, I still think it would be a great book for him to read because it DOES give a great look into how much fun one has in a small college like this.  Just my two cents.

So how is the California kid on your team faring with the Minnesota experience?

Whoa Nelly

M&G,

Are you doing any coaching this winter/spring up in God's country?

I take it you went to our team webpage and looked at our roster.  Unfortunately that was written before the season started, and the guy from California never ended up suiting up for us due to transfer issues.  I don't know what his status is now, maybe he'll be able to play this coming fall.  Unfortunately, due to lack of interaction, I never really got to know him this past fall to know how he was handling the Minnesota cold.  I think that he could be a very good player with his size, but we'll wait for that until camp.

Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Nelly-

Just finished up my assignment as JV head and Varsity asst. Girls' basketball.   As far as the winter, as far as I have ben told (could change at any time without my consent) I have no coaching duties. So that means I need the snow to leave so I can make a daily trip out to Ponderosa Golf Club outside of Hawley and mold myself into the next Tiger Woods,  but I am guessing that I will end up in the shape of John Daly instead.

Speaking of golf, are you going to be participating in the Cobber tourney this summer at all??

At least it seems he's still around, which says something.  We don't have MN weather in Northern California but winter here is a lot colder than LA (we actually had snow a couple of weeks ago).  And anyway, I'm not worried about the weather (my son actually likes cold weather - at least our variant of it out here) so much as the culture shock.

Golfing the Ponderosa is dangerous - from my experience there are a few golfers who haven't quite decided if they're right or left handed yet.

I would like to make the trek up to Moorhead for the golf tournament.  I shot with my dad and two brother-in-laws last year – don't know if they'd all want to do it again.  I emailed Flann on it and planned on asking some other guys so if there is an award for largest tab avoided by smuggling beer onto the course, I like our odds.  Flann is going to be a dad in August so I'm guessing he may be tied down that month in anticipation of the little one.

JV girls basketball...too bad that season's already over  ;)

Knightstalker,

If I had karma powers I'd hit you up with +1.  I just found out my wife has never seen Stripes...or Airplane.  Looks like I have to make a trip to the local movie rental establishment.

You need to talk to whoever was in charge of your wifes education growing up.  Not ever seeing those movies is serious educational neglect.

The article does not mention whether the experiment was run using Hamms.

More good news for those of you who like a swift pint or two: beer doesn't just fight cancer and make you clever but also blocks "interferon-gamma-induced chemical processes".

This is a good thing, trust us, because what the Innsbruck Medical University team behind this revelation has shown - in layman's terms - is that beer offers a resultant anti-inflammatory effect which may have a "beneficial impact on coronary heart diseases".

That is good news. Looks like I may live forever.  :D

EngiNegro and tmerton, Once I reach the mystical level of 200 posts I will +Karma both of you.

The funbags sight was....fun and now to find out I am actually being healthy when I drink beer, that's awesome!!

Thanks to both of you.
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run

You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun

Her parents had her in a Christian k-8.  These are the kind of things you learn on the streets, in public school.  ;)

I asked the GAC grad where I work out about this.  He said the answer clearly was "no" and then went on to talk about jell-o with cottage cheese.
