Union89 woke up this morning with a level 5++++   :(

'gro

A. Don't Hate McNamara... the kid has had syracuse bball on his back since 'melo left (side note, imagine if melo stayed?? they would of won at least one more title) and ended his last 2 seasons w/ 1st round exits. He was upset.

B. Gro lives in TN, the vols are overrated. They still need more time. their coach is bananas.

C. U89, you need 500cc of buscuits and gravy STAT!

Anyone hear that punk Mcnamara after the game?  What a punk, Im so glad they lost.  I dont even think they deserved a 5 seed over Texas A&M anyway.  A&M played some great ball down the stretch this year.

Sorry to butt in, but what about the question?  Do American reporters know to ask any question other than "How does it feel ..."?  What's he supposed to feel like after going scoreless from the field?  I thought the only thing worse that McNamara's petulance was the reporter's question.

The question was something like "Despite this game, do you think your syracuse legacy was made in winning the Big East Tournament?"  Which I took as meaning that he will still be looked at as the man who single handedly got Syracuse to the tourney and despite what happened versus Texas A&M he still comes down as one of the best players in Syracuse history for what he did to bring his team to the tourney by himself.  He could have said a few things to respond to that question:

1) Sorry, I really dont want to talk about the past etc, etc.  We lost today and I didnt do the job.

2) No, the team came together in that tourney and brought us here and we lost as a team today.

3) I dont know, this loss hurts too much to even think about that right now.

but no, he had to answer it like a sore loser, mocking the reporter by making him repeat the question 3 times and pretending like he didnt hear the question.

I thought putting the "overated?" shirt after the game was bad enough.

Eitherway, the Texas A&M moneyline bet was too easy to pass up.

That wasn't the reporter's question I heard.  The one I heard was along the lines of how did he feel about the game.

No, I just heard a clip the other morning on the radio, I cant find the transcript online anywhere but the question and answer I heard went something like:

reporter: Gerry, do you think your basketball legacy at Syracuse will be remembered  with the big east tournment in new york and how well you played in those games .....

Gmac: Can you repeat the last part of that question?

reporter: repeats the same question

Gmac: Im sorry, I couldnt hear what you said at the end there....

Reporter: repeats the same question again.

Gmac: What did you say?

Then Boheim interrupts and yells at the reporter to just ask questions about the game.  At first it seemed that Gmac really couldnt hear the question but then it was clear he was just being rudely sarcastic and was just patrionizing the reporter.

Yeah, that's not the exchange I heard.  What I heard was the reporter asking him how he felt about his play in the game and he then got sarcastic.  I'm not Gerry Mc fan - he's killed my Irish for 4 years (no love for the Cuse in this quarter) and being on the left coast I'm not close enough to know anything else about the kid.  But I am so tired of reporters asking the stupid "how do you feel" question I could puke.  We have a real poverty of expression in our press corps.

RE: How do you feel?

Not taking anything away from the years these kats spend in college to prepare for this job, but comer on.....I ALWAYS Cringe when they let the female reporters on the field at halftime and they catch uip with the head coach (CBS probably pays the program bigtime for this interview) and the idiot blurts out something so stupid like , It looks like they are beating you pretty bad up and down the field....what are you going to do about it??

Now PAUSE your DVR....ask yourself the same question....and think of how you would respond.....ok....push play and I guarentee that the answer you gave is exactly the same as the head coach.  It is very generic....very 50,000 Ft level answer.

Usually ends with the guy jogging (or is it yogging...with a soft j) away and bird brain saying "good luck in the second half, coach"

GIVE REG SOME SUBSTANCE!!!!

'gro

Reg, its just as funny in football. Close game, a lot of bad calls, and here comes Michelle Tafoya (sp?) running a perfect screen on a yogging Joe Paterno (who's probably running to the bathroom to change his undies) to ask him about the close calls... hilarity ensues.

RE: Service Call #2

So another day...another XX amount of dollars...
Starts off like this....Mrs. Reg in the shower last week and Reg turns on the faucet in the kitchen.....water pressure drops to about a dribble....hmmm something isnt right here.  Call up Water guy to check the pump and holding tank....he spend about 20 minutes looking at the thing...bypasses the water softener and then comes inside to check the softener and all is well.  It looks like the supply line to the softener is bad...
since he isn't a master plumber, I have to call someone else.

Ok...so the point of the story...How much...I ask..Does some quick mental math....100 bucks...
Reg: for 15 minutes???
H2O guy- yeah minimun 1 hr and trip charge...
Reg- I asked the guy earlier and he told me 65-85...can I cut it for that?
H2O- yep
Reg- thanks

100 bucks to show up at my house and tuirn a nozzle?  what is up with that?

Can I start making up my own salary?  Oh you want an excel spreadsheet- that will be 250 bucks...a reply to an email- 50 bucks....a bottle a ky - PRICELESS

TDT is calmly chomping at the bit waiting for Real World: Key West tomorrow night.  This chick Svetlana is just smokin' and those funbags are something out of a dream.  TDT believes they are real.  Can LLPP confirm or deny this?

RE: Chargers

So Reg has at least 46 battery chargers at REGS HOUSE.  Each one is to a different cell phone/ipod/bluetooth headset/ drill/ blender/camera......anyway you get the point...I have like a radio shack quantity of freaking chargers.

Do you think I can find the charger to my cell phone??? No, I have to sit out in the car and bring my laptop out there with me and work or forward the calls to my home phonje.

Do you think some genious might say....hey we should come up with a couple of different standard chargers.....that way a person will only need 2 or 3 of them.....

NOOOOOO, that might be too easy.  PS, anyone have a charger for a samsung a900 they could put on a plane to BWI?

Thanks,
MGMT
