I just woke up on my porch.  Details to follow.

Regulator

by my calculations-

Base salary $45,000 (I don't know what he makes...let's just use this #)
= $550 wk after taxes
$550 X 52= $29K
$29K- $1K for car insurance = $28K
say $5 a day for lunch= ~$2K
Another $2K on random presents, games, cell phone or dates = 24K

He is netting $24K a year by living at home.
wow

Reg, tough one.  KS would recommend the next time you see him, take him to the girly bars and see how he reacts this will give a clue to his sexual preferences.

As far as the moving out, figure out some way to talk to him about where he is headed in life.  Depending on where he lives he might be looking at another couple of years at Mom and Dads and then he will have enough saved to buy a house or condo and keep his monthly payments down.

He doesn't bury things in the basement or backyard does he?

Admit offers his services as a consultant if this trip to the girly bars materializes.
Admit also takes offense to the 45K base salary.  Subtract 15 of those K and you'll find admit's base salary.  Yep, educating america's youth is a number one priority....
My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle.  (Yasmine Bleeth comment valid unless prohibited by your College's code of ethics for Alums)

Gro-
The parents are too nice to say anything.
Hence the 3 year live for free situation

Must be rough!  My folks made me pay rent during the summers when I came home.

Mine made me pay every month then they said it was time to leave...once i was out was glad to be out!!

Knightstalker

KS's parents gave him six months rent free after KS got out of the navy and moved back to DJ.  After that it was start paying rent.  Car, insurance and all fun were on KS's dime.  Ma and Pa KS would float a loan to KS if he was going on a trip or something but KS always paid M&P back.

'gro

As of today GGF is in 1st place of lewdogg's NCAA pool. GGF is already talking smack, not that she is going to win, but that her bracket is "better" than Gro's.

Gro quickly reminded GGF that Gro walked her though the process of picking teams and even suggested such gems as LSU over Duke. GGF's other bracket was set up by her brother and had Pittsburg going to the final (enough said there).

If GGF end up in the top 3 is Gro entitled to any portion of GGF's winnings?

p.s. Gro is in 3rd place and may get some money out of this either way.

RE: the porch

Last night I watched the Duke game at home with a couple of beers knowing that I had today off.  Well, I ended up having a few more than expected and got into a little angry drunk phase that I have from time to time when things arent going my way.  So of course instead of just sucking it up for the night and stop drinking I went to the bar to watch the rest of the game.  Of course the bar I go to everyone is rooting against Duke, (putting more gas on my angry drunk fire) and I end up drinking even more than I should have. Now the Memphis and Gonzaga game go my way so Im not so angry but I end up closing out the bar and inviting some of the waitstaff up to my place for a beer.  Now of course I left my car at the bar and got a ride home and of course I left all my stuff in my car including my house keys.  So Im locked out of my house and would have had to walk back to the car (about 10 minutes) to get the keys.  Luckily I have 1 1/2 cases of budlight bottles on my porch so I could entertain the few guests that I had.  So we each had about 1 or 2 more and everyone left. (I declined the ride back to my car because it would have made these people go out of their way even further...I already made 3 of them cram on my small porch as it is) But....I was too lazy and tired to walk back  I slept on my recliner on my porch for about 2 hours, got up around 4 or so, walked to my car and the rest is history.  I woke up and 10 and hit LLPP right away.

Ok, I am going to get a little personal here-

Mrs. Reg and I had a discussion last night...not involving us that I need to take action on....

Here is the story.
MR has a younger brother (25) who is a graduate of ND.  He is very smart and has been working since graduation.  I don't know if he ever had a GF or if he is even interested in chicks.  He likes video games, computers and science.  He's not a bad looking guy either but a complete introvert. (the friend of a friend hook-up would be his only shot)
Reg thinks that his main problem is that he lives at home with his parents.....Dude, the "yeah I'm living at home to save up money" excuse only lasts for about a year max.

Reg needs advice on how to proceed....do I ask him if he likes girls?....do I tell him he needs to move out?....Do I have MR throw him out of the house for her parents?....

Should I even get involved?.....Why do I even care?....I care because it doesn't make sense to me.....What else to life is there besides trying to touch as much buried treasure as possible.

Can the LLPP offer up some advise?....

Can he get a place with a couple of roommates?

JT qualifies these roomie's as career building young pro's during the day and party animals by night.

JT lived in a situation like this for a year.  A big house with 6 guys. There was never any food in the house except for booze and snacks.  Pooled grocery shopping wasn't a major priority.  There was always something going on, either at the house or out and about.

Of the six guys, JT wasn't the mackinest guy in the house.  JT would probably rate  3rd or 4th of the six at the time.  The top two dudes had LD11 and Gro type skills.  Big drop off from 4th.  Guy #5 and #6 were good guys but had no skills.

Following the pack mentality the others started stepping up their game by ozmosis/oberservation and nailing the leftovers.  It was like college only with more money.  We looked out for each other and we all had a blast.

It helped that we were on the outskirts of rich neighborhoods. Plenty of aupairs looking to party on weekends.

Main point is that guys 3-6 definitely married up.  JT thinks the house experience had a lot to do with it.

RE: Broads and Brackets

Gro, Ive had some expereince with female friends and the NCAA tournement.  It might be too late for you, but here is some advice I can give ya.

1) Make an agreement before the brackets are in that whoever wins will take the other person out to eat/drink at a nice restaurant.  This is a win/win situation.  If you win, you pay with gambling winnnings.  If she wins, you get a free meal.  If you both lose, well your probably going to be taking her out somewhere for something anyway, so you might as well use this as an excuse for that occasion.  (V-day, B-days are not reccommened for this dual-occasion)

2) Tell her before hand that you expect something if she wins.  Do lawyers work for free?  Do tax guys do taxes without a fee?  No.  Consider yourself a sports expert and let her know it.  Throw some names out there.  Throw some past tourney stats out there.  Then stop and ask her something like..."Do you think Uconn has the guard play to take it to the next level this year?"  Her response will be something like "errrr...I dont know, Ive never watched a basketball game in my life..."  This is when you tell her you dont think its going to work out.  She will likely make a deal with you then.
