Friday observations (before I have to get to work):

Thanks for the pics, BDB.  And as for that guy whose pic you posted yesterday, I suggest we leave him in Thailand (why do I think his goal is getting out of Thailand, even if it means admitting to a murder he couldn't have done?)

Makes sense. Lets compare Thailand to the US in terms of the justice system:

Crime:
Vandalize cars
Punishment
US: probably a slap on the wrist, 15 days in jail deferred, 1 year probation, and 100 hours community service
Thailand: They hit your a$s with a cane so hard you pass out in between each caning.

I'd be willing to bet the number of repeat offenders in Thailand is a lot less than in the US, any guesses why?

I suspect that if this creep were left in Thailand much longer he would lose an important piece of his anatomy.  I don't think they would be caning his a$$ but I think that is the correct altitude.

I have three ads for local sex offender registries and one for kids being safe cutting the lawn.

Pat - what determines the ads at the top of your pages?

frankrickard

I have ads for san jose fitness centers, college scholarships and mcdonalds snack wraps...not sure what ties them all together...

Just got a call from Austin. An "edited" version of the new Sweet Season epilogue is now online.

Our Mr. Pepys still needs a little work on his affect/effect usage.  ::) ;D  Still, I'm glad to have him as the program's chronicler, though we missed him at the "Parka Party" sendoff for the California contingent on the team.

Thanks for your work on this.

Johnniepress,

Hopefully he checked the names of some of the players.

It's Matt Caponi.

If he has to get run over you could at least get the name right.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Duff is just ticked off because in the past he was turned down from a BU hotty! :-* :-* ;D

Mighty Royal
Isn't "Bethel hottie" an oxymoron like "jumbo shrimp" or "sober Viking"?

Are we jealous?

Couple of things for the crowd to start a weekend.

First off, Jim Cella is doing a position by position breakdown of the Cobbers during fall camp, it has some pretty decent info, here's the link

http://www.cord.edu/dept/sports/fall/fb/06preview.php

I also thought that this was an interesting story. Who the heck is going to carry the ball down there??

Let the games begin

RB George Rogers, about the upcoming season:
"I want to rush for 1,000 or 1,500 yards, whichever comes first."

johnniepress

I would love to do a position-by-position breakdown...but there are between 20-25 players at each position (aside from quarterback, kicker and tight end).

That's what you get paid the Big Bucks for though right??   ;)

And that third stage is ... (where was John going with this one? - from Questions with Bob in the PP)

BS Do some of the comments you come up with ever crack you up?

JG I hope they crack other people up. Another line I push is: There are three important stages of life you have to watch. When you forget to zip up, you have to pay attention. When you forget to zip down, you've really got to pay attention. And the third thing you have to watch is ... heck, I can't remember the third thing.
