What?   That's illegal?    ::)         Although, with the exception of beaver (don't have time to even touch that one!)  I thought you could dispose of any nuisance rodent.  And since you'd be out here in the sticks, you could shoot it.  (Although I'd recommend the .22 if you're in close proximity to the 'toon)

Ok- Beaver is never a nuisance, unless of course you're TDT....

It's not illegal, unless you get caught!

Is that the Viking motto? Maybe they should make up team bumperstickers with that quote on them! ;D

I was on Minnetonka yesterday - when we cruised by Al & Alma's there was a boat departing.  Lots of silver-tops, I'm guessing it was more along the lines of a 50th Anniversary party than a Sex Party...thank God.

The SS's in the Washington version are actually $$ so it is DE$ MOINE$, WA.

But you know there have been serveral occasions I have been in Des Moines, IA and I could swear I could see "Incredible panoramic Puget Sound and Olympic Mountain views." There sure as heck isn't anything blocking your view from there.

Maybe and extremely tall COW.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

[And the one in Washington is pronounced as spelled.  You enunciate the "s" in both words.

That pretty much butchers the French origin of the name - they really know how to irritate the frogs up there in WA, don't they?  At least the Minnesota pronunciation of St. Cloud is based on equivalent English words.

When I first moved to Seattle and would pronounce Des Moines what I consider to be correct (silent s) I would first get a funny look and then when they figured out what I was saying they would turn up their nose and say "that's in Iowa."

So, I just pronounced it incorrectly.  Almost choked on both of the s's.

Fellas,

I usually show up late for any party, so forgive me if this discussion was already had weeks ago on these hallowed posting boards, but has anyone read Austin Murphy's second epilogue to The Sweet Season?  If you go to the SJU football webpage, you can click on the icon and enjoy the 11 page read.

Hard to believe this is the 3rd season since the Perfect Season!

Go Johnnies!

So I just saw that Carleton has their roster up for 2006 and if it is complete and accurate they have 5 freshman.  I think St. John's has more fresh. from St. Cloud Tech.

According to the latest roster, there are 69 freshmen, though only 4 from Tech.  Of the 27 non-MN kids on the roster, 14 are freshmen, so it's a pretty diverse group (relatively speaking).   The Florida pipeline apparently hasn't been started yet, though.

CA?  Who in their right mind would come from CA to the middle of Minnesota to play football?   ;)

p.s.  bumped your karma back to 100.

Anyone heard from Fins lately?  I'm beginning to wonder if he's okay.  It's awfully quiet without him around.

I don't think you're ever going to see a "Florida Pipeline" at SJU.  You saw firsthand the effort they put into out-of-state recuiting.  They figure that they've been winning for a long time with central Minnesota kids, so it must be working.

Usually, the pipeline at SJU comes from Sartell, although ROCORI has been sending a lot of kids down the road, too (edit: looks like ROCORI overtook Sartell 7-5 this year :().

Admit, I noticed a couple of NLS frosh on the roster.  You didn't have anything to do with that, I presume?

Present and totally unaccounted for!
I'm OK, but my desk isn't. Nice to be missed, though. Enjoy the peace while you have it.
Spent the weekend up in "ALEC". Funtimes, except my cousin and her family, here from Boston, are dying slow, painful deaths as they watch their beloved Red Sox get creamed by the dreaded Yankees.  :'( I tried to rub some Twins balm in their wounds every chance I got, but it didn't seem to help.

I need 7 more guys to work on this number with me. Figure we can drag some treadmills out of the McGlynn Fitness Center and go on right after the CSB dance line at halftime. Looks hard, but after a couple of Hamm's, we should be alright. I get to be the dude with the white shoes and glasses.

Nah, not me!   ;)  Didn't hurt that besides coaching em, I had em both in class...
My grandmother is over eighty and still doesn't need glasses. Drinks right out of the bottle.  (Yasmine Bleeth comment valid unless prohibited by your College's code of ethics for Alums)

I am in, I'll be the dude in pink pants with the tie... unless TDT wants the spot that is rightfully his.

+k to all in celebration of Fins' return and Admit's recruiting abilities continuing even though he no longer works for Admissions!
Now accepting new patients. All bills must be paid in scotch shortly after any services rendered.  Sorry TDT, no problems below the waist.
