That is truly a touchy issue.  Here is the basic rundown:

Juvan came in last year and lit up fall camp.  We were all salivating at his ability and excited that we would reload after Felicetti.  

This year, Brian Grastorf, a freshman QB from Nisky, came in and did the same thing in camp.  I wasn't there but, by all accounts, he has tremendous talent.  But, we all were ready for the Juvan era.

Then Juvan goes out and is just a slightly above average QB.  Of course, he was a rookie, his team struggled, and we played a hard schedule with tough road games at Fisher, at Alfred, and at Cortland.  But, it was apparent near the end of the season that Juvan was a game manager and the plan was to keep him from losing the game, not use him to win the game.

The question now becomes, is Juvan the QB we thought he was?  If he is, then he is our starter as Grastorf likely would go through similar growing pains as a sophomore.  But, if this is the QB Juvan is going to be, then you have to ask how big Grastorf's upside really is.  If his upside is as big as his legend in E8PP Nation, then maybe you have a camp controversy.

I'm not seeing that much of a controversy.....agreed that Coach Welch will defer to Juvan to start...

I think that Coach Schur's confidence in Dan has grown and I think they work in the off season on utilizing his tools more next year. I do agree that at times he was asked to "manage" the game and not "take off"...

I'm not so sure he won't get the green light to take off from the coach's as well as in his own head next year.....could be a problem for opposing linebackers....

You may see Donovan back with Bam Bam next year....THAT makes for a "wrecking crew" running game.....and that in itself loosens up any secondary......can you say "BLACK n BLUE".....?

Early plans for 2007 look like JoseQViper in the house for Cortaca with the newly minted Mrs. JoseQViper.  Should the Gators be on the road Fisher weekend, JoseQViper will likely roll solo to that game as well.

I motion that we form a comittee to establish the official E8 Posters to hold the 2007 annual meeting at Butterfield prior to the SJF-IC clash.....somewhat central to all schools...great game expected....may be an opportunity to "lure" Keith and/or Pat to IC...

I am throwing my support behind the first annual E8 National Meeting taking place on the South Hill prior to IC-Fisher as a good 90 percent of E8 Nation are either Bombers or Cardinals.
