NYU's first defense as holders of the Women's BeltTM ended up successful.  Smith gave a 5 star match to try to claim the baubles, and stayed within single digits for a lot of the contest.

Many people did not think that Smith was worthy of being a "Final Boss" to end the season, but the Pioneers proved up to the challenge.

However the match came to an end when Sofia Rosa of Smith was forced to submit to NYU's suffocating defense.   After Rosa submitted and fouled out, NYU hit Violet Storm ZeroTM and made the cover to not only remain Women's BeltTM champions, but also claim the Big Doorstop-- the NCAA Walnut and Bronze.

The Women's BeltTM travels to the corner of Bleecker and Mercer Streets in Greenwich Village where it will be based for the summer.   Among the stops on the summer tour, Caroline Peper and the family are planning to make arrangements for the Women's BeltTM to pay a visit to Stonehill in Easton, MA for a few days-- there will be plenty of security on the tour to make sure that no one absconds with the baubles.

Once again, the final BeltTM path for the season was as follows:

2023-24 BeltTM Path

3/18/23:  Transylvania
3/14/24:  New York University

NYU's next title defense will be in November, 2024.  Until then, enjoy the off-season.

Since March 14, 2024, NYU has successfully defended the Women's Belt TM 17 times.  No team has even come close to getting a pinfall or submission on the Violets this season.

NYU's 18th title defense will be on Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Ratner Center in Chicago, when the Violets face the team that came the closest last season to defeating them in the Chicago Maroons.  Should that defense be successful, the anticipated 19th title defense will be played at WashU in St. Louis on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

That is your latest update on the Women's Belt TM situation.
