Transfers from DI to DIII

I wonder how frequently players move from DI to DIII?  I know some players that didn't like the time commitment of DI and switched, while others didn't like the environment of the DI program and moved to DIII.  One moved from DIII to DI, then back to DIII.  I guess the grass isn't always greener. Does anyone care to share any stories from their experiences?
