The NCAA Division III league, which includes all of Colorado College's teams except its Division I men's hockey and women's soccer programs, could lose several members if things go as expected at the annual presidents meeting.

Four schools located in Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee – Centre, Hendrix, Rhodes and Sewanee: University of the South – expressed their intent in early May to leave the 12-member league effective July 1, 2012.

This has been on various boards for days ... maybe you should browse around for a while before you post.

What if Colorado College were the "deal breaker" for the invitees to a new conference involving the Texas-4?

CC doesn't have football, which IMHO was the value that they brought to the table when RHIT left.

Credit for bringing this story to our attention (IHO) goes to Ron Boerger back on May 15, 2011...

With the way things are going possibly a section on this board could be just for conference changes and schools looking to become D3 or leave it for D2.  I did look on the main site to see if any info was available of this story and did not see any info.

also...we were just informed of this story today, we have already been in contact with SCAC presidents and Ad's and are asking for their input on the future of the SCAC.  We always try and verify information like this.

The main issue that caught our attention was Colorado College and if they were applying to join D2 and you will see on our D2 site they confirmed to us they were not.  They also told us they were looking at the RMAC for the future.  The eastern schools possible move from the conf was way to late for them to get in the D2 process.

16 schools have applied for D2 status, one D3 we know is McMurry (which I know this board is aware of). So this story was more interesting to us from the D2 issue.

The Future of Division III board was where we had placed these discussions since October 2005.

That ongoing thread is a different format from the one you have implied, i.e., a separate thread of 5-25 posts for each school, which is more like the format you use for news and commentaries that you have on your website.

Both formats have their advantages.  A long thread gets "too long", but readers are reluctant to look to a second or third page of threads for a topic (for 8 schools and conferences at this moment), once that thread "cools down".  The search function can help find old posts.  There is no doubt that the "archives" function that these message boards provide is invaluable to the serious D3 fans.

One other clear distinction of these "D3boards" is that their nature and content are vastly different from any of the D2 boards that have been in existence in recent memory.
