Seems like an odd game to play during the run to the SCAC tourney.

hopefan,
I received a reply earlier today from an e-mail I sent the SID at Millsaps. He was kind enough to inform me that yes the game was played and we can score one for the good guys as Millsaps beat Wesley 74-62. In fact I just checked and the score is now listed on the Millsaps D3 Hoops page.

Hold everything! I went to the Millsaps website just to see if the score was posted there and much to my surprise their schedule shows Wesley beating Millsaps 76-64. ??? It also shows them with a 12-13 record instead of the 13-12 record the D3Hoops team page shows. I'm waiting for a reply from the Millsaps SID to confirm the correct score. I would assume that what he told me earlier is right and someone at Millsaps has entered the wrong info on their website but I would wait for confirmation before you do anything with your totals.

magic   -   nothing is ever easy, eh?

There are a few more scores to finish things up - possibly even next week  -  D3 schools in NCCAA tourney... I'll continue to monitor.....

hopefan,
I just heard back from the SID at Millsaps and Millsaps did indeed lose that game to Wesley 76-64. As smedindy commented earlier that it seemed like an odd game leading up to the SCAC tournament, well the Millsaps coach must have thought the same thing, because the SID stated that only Millsaps reserves played in the game. It was the hardest score I've ever tried to get ;D

smedindy

Well, now that that long national nightmare is over...we can have peace in our time.

Or at least accurate records.

Or something... :D

Mr. Ypsi

As we wind down on another year of d3 over NAIA2, I gotta ask - how much of the margin comes from reclassifying UMPI?! ;)

hopefan

UMPI was 0-6 vs d3  and 7-7 vs NAIA d2,  and 0-1 vs D1

so we gained only 6 games on the won loss   -  D3 was 6-0 against NAIAd2 UMPI, we wouldnt have had that if UMPI had been D3
Umpi would have been .500 vs NAIA D2, instead, they are 0-0  those games are meaningless to D3.

We would have picked up one more loss to D1

The NAIA Division II National Championship was won by the 15th ranked University of St. Francis, of Fort Wayne, Indiana who defeated #1 ranked Walsh College of North Canton, Ohio 67-66 on Tuesday March 16th. It marked the 2nd time this season that St Francis had beaten Walsh having done so back on December 13th 86-75, when Walsh was then ranked #2.

St. Francis defeated the 18th-ranked team, the 2nd-ranked team, the 10th-ranked team, the 6th-ranked team and the No. 1 ranked team enroute to winning the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship.

I don't beleive either one of these teams played a D3 team this season.
