Tough start against the NAIA. But they do get a head start!

I had listed games vs D1 before and invited guesses as to which game would be the 'best' margin for the D3 team.. not many guessed... but I wonder if any team will come closer than the Banana Slugs did last night, losing to Cal Davis by only 6... good prep for Davis, who plays Stanford next!!!!

FYI - Johnson & Wales (NC) is a USCAA school.
I'm also the SID for the USCAA as well as the APprentice School :)

forgive me, but I forget how the board handles dual membership schools.  I'll point out Rochester College holds NAIA and USCAA membership.  I think this is their 1st or 2nd year in NAIA.

I do not know which tournament they have opted for this year, if they have at all.  Usually they've been in the USCAA tournament.

I clicked on Vaughn, which lead me to their conference, and then to a school that had a neat logo and nickname.

Yes, the Culinary Institute of America has a hoops team.

I wonder if they beat an opponent, if Ted Allen comes on the PA and says, "You've been...Chopped!"

It's just not a good time right now to be Penn State.

A dozen or so years ago, North Park played Kendall College, a school that was then located in Evanston (it's since moved into the city). Kendall's largest and most familiar component is a cooking school. Its basketball team, which has since been disbanded along with the rest of Kendall's athletic department, played its home games at Oakton Community College in nearby Skokie, and about thirty NPU students showed up there for the game. They were all wearing aprons and chef hats, and they'd all managed to scrounge up pots, pans, big spoons, etc., that they banged on throughout the entire game. In keeping with NPU's Swedish heritage, a number of them wore red bowties and bushy fake moustaches and eyebrows and jeered Kendall in Swedish Chef gibberish.

The Kendall players loved it. I'm guessing that it was the first, last, and only time that they ever played a home game in front of an audience that consisted of something other than parents and girlfriends.

You can add Penn College to those scores. It's a two-year school that is part of the Penn State University system. The graduates' diplomas read "Penn State University" on them. I only know that because my brother goes there.
