D3 vs. D1/D2/NAIA/NCCAA

It's a tournament at Rowan. A lot of times you grab a lower-level team to fill out the card.

Rowan probably gave them a travel allowance and some hotel rooms and pizzas. That's typical.

Here at CWU we trade out with local hotels for rooms for visiting teams and recruits, and the local pizza joints (and wings place) are sponsors for food trade out. Makes my job a bit...interesting...since there are also some contributions to the scholarship programs.

Why the heck is Rowan playing Maine-Ft. Kent?  Why would that ever happen?

Maine-Fort Kent is also playing Rochester College of Michigan on back-to-back days in January......in Montreal.

Sometimes you have to take any team that's willing to show up. That's been particularly true in recent years, as it seems that more and more tournaments have a hard time filling their fields. Perhaps this is just an anecdotal observation on my part, but it seems as though there's an increasing number of D3-hosted tourneys that have to add obscure USCAA hyphen schools or NCCAA Bible schools to the field in order to fill out the four slots.

I'm sure Fort Kent is making a long weekend out of it, see the sights, play a little basketball.

Also interesting to note.  Rowan has played in two tournaments this year one at Widener and their own, both have had Berkeley College of New Jersey.
