Interesting listing from Ralph about the provisional schools  -  brings out some questions because I'm not familiar with the process.

is a year 4 provisional 4 years away from full status, meaning they just started, or have they been thru 4 years of provisional, and are therefore on the doorstep of full status?
What is an exploratory year? Are the schools exploring, or is the NCAA?
Why do some of the schools already have connections to D3 conferences, while some seem to have retained their NAIA or USCAA or NCCAA conference affiliations.
Several of the schools mentioned I think of as primarily 2 year schools - ie Cobleskill, Morrisville, Franciscan   --would students in a 2 year program be eligible for their school's team?  I'm surprised that those schools have enough 4 year programs to provide students for a team, tho I'm probably living in the past.

Ralph - thanks much for the education and listings......  tho I guess it brings another question as to why the NCAA manual lists some schools and not others - with the NCAA, who knows.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

hopefan: Great job!  Only one correction--Pratt is not an NCAA member; they belong in the "other" category.

Year 4's on on the doorstep, yes.

Hopefan,

is a year 4 provisional 4 years away from full status, meaning they just started, or have they been thru 4 years of provisional, and are therefore on the doorstep of full status? Doorstep.  (I understand that the GSAC-Women will move to full AQ status next year.  Spelman will be the 8th team.)

What is an exploratory year? Are the schools exploring, or is the NCAA?--Both, as I understand it.

Why do some of the schools already have connections to D3 conferences, while some seem to have retained their NAIA or USCAA or NCCAA conference affiliations.  I have put the current affiliations or their previous affiliation.  Most recent is listed in these cases.  UT-Tyler, Tri-State, Geneva, St Vincent, have been in discussions with existing conferences that are expanding. The  "UMAC's", "NEAC's" and "AMCC's" have been in discussion with those schools in the conferences' formation.

These are schools that are moving from 2-year to 4-year status.

Way to come through with the info Ralph.  And I never noticed the Lyndon- Johnson thing, which is odd, having lived in Johnson, Vermont for several years.  It is Vermont, I'm sure if we could get one of those retired hippies enough weed, he'd change the name of one of the other state schools to Baines, just for kicks... although hippies, I guess, wouldn't be real big fans of LBJ.

Glad to have you aboard.

Final @ UC-Riverside

Puget Sound - 115
UC-Riversides (D-1) - 111

UPS was down 18 at one point in the first-half and faced a 13 def. at the break.  Good solid win.  Riverside beat Redlands (not saying much but their only other D3 game of the season) 162-123 in an exhib. in early Nov.

Loggers move to 7-1 to set up their 12/29 date with IUW...should be a good one.  :)
