Carnegie plays Princeton tomorrow night at 7:30, live stats and audio are available at goprincetontigers.com.  CMU is averaging 91.6 points per game while Princeton is averaging 43.7 ppg.  It will fun to see who's style dictates the game.

If a win over a D-I is desired, teams should schedule Mississippi Valley State. They are terrible. I saw them play and get beat lasty week by NAIA Concordia (CA).

Concordia is a good NAIA - I program (10th last year in Massey for NAIA-I). MVSU is struggling, though, for sure. Wolfe and Massey have them well behind several other D-2, D-3 and NAIA programs and Pomeroy and Sagarin have them at about the 10th worst D-1 program going right now.

The worst two D-1 programs seem to be Savannah State or Morehead State.  UConn just beat Morehead by 68 points.

I do think that Carnegie Mellon's win over Princeton says more about Princeton that about C-M.

If Princeton can't shoot - they're done.

They shot horrifically tonight - much like they did in the debacle against Monmouth. Yet, they beat Wyoming, who is a fairly OK team in a good conference.

Great win for C-M, though. This means that there may be a new Ivy champ besides Princeton and Penn.

Hail Carnegie

Don't be so quick to say it says more about Princeton than Carnegie Mellon. I won't argue that Princeton sucks big time, but this CMU team was a game away from winning the UAA last year and is now 10-0 with a win in Rochester. Plus, this group of kids has always been able to hang with Division I schools to an extent. A few years ago they gave Robert Morris a run for their money up until the last five minutes, and last year they lead nationally-ranked Pitt at halftime. They're a very good team right now.

Not saying they're not a good team, but my point was that it definitely revealed that the Monmouth game was not a fluke - and Princeton will struggle big time this year if they don't shoot well. In the past, Princeton was able to execute its offense and overcome bad shooting from the outside no matter what the other team was trying to do. This time, against teams that like to push the tempo, they need to be able to shoot otherwise they're going to struggle.

That's why it says more about Princeton that C-M.

Robert Morris (PA) blasted Medaille 109-36. This is one of those inane D-1 vs. D-3 matchups. You're coming off a winless season and you schedule a D-1 team? Hmmmm... :-\

I attended the CMU Princeton game and found it to be the tale of two teams.  Princeton has a great deal of turmoil internally and lack of depth on the team and CMU out coached Princeton for the win.  The Tartans did not bring their "A" game, yet despite the turnovers they withstood the pressure from the Tigers to win.

Over the last 3 years the Tartans have taken the challenge to improve over the previous year.  Even with key seniors graduating the program has relied on its fundamental style of pressure defense and aggressive offense to show up competitvely.  Last year they fell one game short of their objective to play in the NCAA.  They are on a mission again this year.

I'm not positive of their affiliation (I think it's NAIA II) but UWSP lost to Mid-American Nazerean yesterday.
