St. John Fisher 59
Waterloo University 51 - D1 Canadian school

Waterloo is a D-I Canadian University - They play in the top Ontario University league which has teams that are competitive with mid-majors.  Carleton, who is in their league just played Louisville in Freedom Hall.  Yes they arnt D1 U.S. team but nevertheless considered D1 in Canada. Waterloo played and lost to Duquense U.S D1 earlier in the year.

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but I checked the Wolfe Ratings (since he rates US and Canadian teams) and Waterloo was ranked 990. That's around where teams like Roger Williams and Albright are ranked.

The highest ranked Canadian team was Carleton, at 333, which is around where the dregs of D-1 (lots of SWAC and Northeast teams in that neighborhood) and decent D-2 teams are located.

Not bursting the bubble, Canadian teams are usually awful.  Everyyear one comes into the gym and gets beat by about 50 by Fisher. Just stating they were D1 and play a competitive schedule.

Again, D1 Canadian = Mid D2 / High D3 / NAIA. No reason to expect Fisher not to win.

November 15    Morehouse (D2)  95     Fisk  59

Not sure if Fisk is to make it into these listings  -  I see Pat has excluded them in the Southern Region, but I think they are still officially D3, though they only play several D3 games.   Also, with the Nov 15 date, this may be an exhibition game if Fisk is D3...   Anybody know for sure????
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

FISK is still a NCAA Division III school.  Pat (in his wisdom) has decided not to follow FISK this year apparently because FISK is only playing 4 D3 games this season. It may not be worth his time nor effort.

That's Pat's perogative as well as it is FISK's perogative to schedule opponents whom they choose, regardless of the 50% "rule".

Thanks for the question...

Wilburt  -  is it an official game for Fisk?  or an exhibition?

Don't know, but my guess was it was an exhibition.

I believe however, that what can be a real game for a D1 or D2 team can still be an exhibition for the D3 team dependent on the date played  -

Ah, yeah. Makes sense, kinda...

I think the rule in the Division III bylaws states that schools must schedule 50% in-region to be eligible for the tournament.  So FISK chooses not to be "eligible" for the tournament?  What are you getting at Pat?

To me, that's a sanction. And a shame...
