Here are the CCIW vs non-D3 games this year, in case it helps...

11/30 - Millikin @ Maryville-Mo. (D2)

12/1 - Carthage @ IU-Northwest (NAIA)

12/3 - North Park vs Trinity International (NAIA)

12/7 - North Park vs East-West (NAIA)

12/9 - Augstana @ Gonzaga (D1)
12/9 - Carthage @ Calumet College - St. Joseph (NAIA)

12/11 - Millikin @ Missouri Baptist (NAIA)

12/12 - Millikin @ Maryville-Mo (NAIA) - potential tournament matchup

12/17 - North Central @ Indiana Institute of Tecnhology (NAIA)

I have nothing to back this up, but it sure seems like 9 total non-D3 games across 8 CCIW teams has to be close to an all-time low.  Last year alone IWU played 4 NAIA teams...and this year plays all 11 non-conference games vs D3's.  A couple regular NAIA games are not on 2009-10 schedules - Augustana vs St. Ambrose and IWU vs Olivet Nazarene.

David Collinge

Here's what I have for the NCAC, also not a long slate:

11/15 -- Hiram at Youngstown St. (D1)
11/17 -- Cincinnati-Clermont (USCAA) at Wittenberg
11/17 -- Wabash at Marian (NAIA 2)
11/21 -- Denison vs. Goshen (NAIA 2) (at Hanover)
12/30 -- TBA (either Ohio Dominican or Marian, both NAIA 2) at Wittenberg
2/8 -- Penn St.-New Kensington (USCAA) at Allegheny

New Kensington may be provisional D3, I no longer remember where to go to look stuff like that up.

If sac is going to do this for the MIAA, we may have to move to a larger server.  ;)

Exhibition in Houston tonight...

D1 Texas Southern 88, McMurry 81.

McMurry had the chance to close the deficit to 2 on a couple of times in the last 2 minutes but could not pull it off.

Jan 2, 2010  UT-Dallas at UT-Arlington.

The last time those two played, UTD won with a bunch of sophomores that played in the Elite 8 in 2009.

Hoops Fan, to address your Zags v. Augie question. Basically, the connection occurred through the coaching network after the Zags couldn't get a D1 to fill the date, and D1's can pay D3's more in a regular season match-up. The extra money will go towards the teams trip next summer to China.

"One of those [Augustana Coach Giovanine's] friends is Gonzaga head coach Mark Few. An even closer friend is Ray Giacoletti, who was an assistant at a pair of Giovanine's previous stops and who Few hired as his lead assistant two years ago."

Another West Coast Conference School (D-I) will play a Division III school on Monday, Nov. 16.  Santa Clara will host fellow Bay Area school Menlo.

Consultant  -  is Menlo considered a part of D3 basketball?  They don't appear as such in this site, and they are not on a provisional list on NCAA.Org -  I don't have them as such in my data base (I classify them as NAIA-D2  -  they do appear in that site)

Hopefan,
Interestingly enough, I've been trying to confirm Menlo's status in men's basketball.  The college seems to be affiliated with both the NAIA and NCAA Div. III with men's basketball still being affiliated with NAIA.

Gregory Sager

Menlo, like Nebraska Wesleyan, is a dual member of the NAIA (Division II) and the NCAA (Division III). Unlike Nebraska Wesleyan, Menlo declares every year for the NAIA in terms of postseason play, which makes it an NAIA school and not a D3 school for recording purposes.
