Yep, I was getting my years mixed up... They lost by 4 to Kentucky as a 15 in 2001 in round 1, to Kansas as a 16 in 2002 by 11, and Marquette as a 14 in 2003 by 4 (ironically, by the same score as 2001).  I played against a guy (Tim Szatko) in High School who played at Holy Cross, so I kind of kept tabs on them.

I couldn't wait... ;D

In overtime, Chapman beat 18th ranked Division II BYU Hawaii on the road by a score of 76 to 70. Congratulations to the Panthers!

I will be posting my commentaries of the game in the "West Region Independent" forum tomorrow.

This is too good to last, but McMurry leads UTSA 24-23 with 4:14 left in the first half.

In UTSA's last game, the Roadrunners beat Houston Cougars 83-82 on New Year's Eve.

McM 26  UTSA 25  3:21
McM 26  UTSA 29  1:51
McM 27  UTSA 35  Half

UTSA opened the second half with a 15-3 run (great defense) to pull out to a 50-30 lead in the first 5 minutes.  McMurry began playing its subs shortly thereafter.

Final UTSA 84, McMurry 58.  UTSA improves to 10-3, for their best start since the 2000-01 season.  McMurry falls to 7-3.

Don't either one of thses schools have an SID that actually spends time working at their job? Cal Maritime actually had the Conference Player of the Week this week but you can't find that out by visiting the school's website. And the Banana Slugs haven't posted a game score since Dec. 14th, 5 games ago.

I'd root for Cal Maritime in that tournament. How could you resist a team nicknamed the Keelhaulers?

Somebody must have reported the game, since it's posted on the website of the Cal Pac Conference (Cal Maritime's league) and on the scoreboard of the NAIA website.

I know but even that took over 2 days to show up. When hopefan posted on the SCIAC board asking for help in locating that score I went to the Cal Pac website and the NAIA website 4 or 5 different times on Sunday and they had nothing. I was going to check it on Monday when I saw that you already had. And I agree with smedindy about the Keelhaulers nickname. I think the Keelhaulers against the Banana Slugs has to be the nickname game of the year. :D
