Good news for those that have enjoyed following this page in the past... I am keeping my spreadsheet this year so will be documenting detailed D3 results vs everyone else on this page throughout the season... Feel welcome to comment during the season if I have a certain school in a wrong Association... the schools change memberships at times, I might not be totally up to date...I'm planning on counting Nebraska Wesleyan as NAIA, as they are playing a complete NAIA conference schedule... the same with Berea.....Those seem to be the only 'outliers' among schools also belonging to D3.  Feel free to comment, I can change my thinking.
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

I just came across what has to be the toughest (given the assumption that low level D1 schools are still tougher than high level D3 schools) D3 nonconference schedule in the country:

Check out Louisiana College...  a member of the ASC, they play 5 non conference games... 3 of them are against NCAA D1 teams, McNeese State, Northwestern State (La.), and Nicholls State, and their other 2 nonconference games are against NAIA-D1 LSU-Alexandria, who went 23-4 last year.   And for a little additional spice, they play an exhibition game against D1 Louisiana-Lafayette!!     AND they do this under new head coach Reni Mason, replacing Gene Rushing who had been at LC for the previous 29 years....   Tough introduction for Coach Mason....

Sure, but right now he's the campus hero as far as the Louisiana College administration is concerned:

I have not put the pencil to it but with the exception of Centenary LA, they may be the closest opponents to Pineville.

ok... here we go for 2015-2016..

NOTE, Exhibition games are not included as they are not a part of the D3 team's record..

Note, if non D3 teams have recently changed affiliation, I may have missed it... let me know, and if I can verify, I'll make the correction...

Winning teams are printed First  Non D3 team is identified by their affiliation

Independent Provisional D3 teams are considered Non D3 because they play mostly non D3 teams... to include them as D3 teams would skew the D3 w-l records..

I thought the exhibitions on or after the first night DID count for the d3 team's record.  Did that change?  I know there were a number of d3-d1 matchups last night.

Hoops, yes, that did change... D3 teams get 2 exhibitions, and they may be In-Season...  I had pointed out to the guys that some schools were showing 26 games in season without identifying an exhibition, but for the most part, that has been corrected.  D3hoops schedules from last night properly do not include these exhibition games....

hopefan,

I spotted the "Other" connotation next to bolded Virgina-Lynchburg and see that the  "Other" category is 1-0 but where did you place bolded Berea? There was no affiliation next to their name, I thought it was Other but they are USCAA or could be a  Independant-D3Provisional, maybe? I'm guessing by the count from Friday to Saturday that you put them in Ind-D3Provisional and just didn't mark them in the score section.

And you're right NAIA II is killing us. Must be the matchups. Hope it evens out.

Magic... yes Berea is Ind D3 provisional catagory... But your question pointed out a question as to why that affiliation didn't print and SLIAC did print next to Spalding (it shouldn't have)... macros, you gotta love 'em, until you find a glitch... corrected now... ;D

Good, my question helped you find a glitch. I hate those damn glitches...they're worse than gremlins, because they hide themselves so much better. :D
