UMPI 83  NE Bap 29             Given UMPI's history, how bad must NE Baptist be?   :o :o

UMPI 83  NE Bap 29             Given UMPI's history, how bad must NE Baptist be?

From their website:

"New England Baptist College is an independent, fundamental, local church-centered Baptist college. It stands without apology for separation from worldliness, conservative Christ-honoring music, and the exclusive use of the King James Bible."

They also require two hours of door-to-door evangelism each week for every student.  This does not make recruiting efforts super easy.  Also, the lack of accreditation hurts.

Now wait, I can see it now...

All over New England....The doorbell rings...   "Sit down and read The Good Book with me, and, does anybody in the household play basketball?" ::) ::)

I know I'm going out on a limb here, but I have a feeling athletics aren't very high on NE Baptists priorities list.

I tried searching and I get a pretty solid number of 'loses to JV team'.

I just came across what has to be the toughest (given the assumption that low level D1 schools are still tougher than high level D3 schools) D3 nonconference schedule in the country:

Check out Louisiana College...  a member of the ASC, they play 5 non conference games... 3 of them are against NCAA D1 teams, McNeese State, Northwestern State (La.), and Nicholls State, and their other 2 nonconference games are against NAIA-D1 LSU-Alexandria, who went 23-4 last year.   And for a little additional spice, they play an exhibition game against D1 Louisiana-Lafayette!!     AND they do this under new head coach Reni Mason, replacing Gene Rushing who had been at LC for the previous 29 years....   Tough introduction for Coach Mason....

Sure, but right now he's the campus hero as far as the Louisiana College administration is concerned:

Postgame speech

LC junior guard Dylan Brewer hits a go-ahead 3-pointer with 22 seconds left to put LC ahead 71-68 against McNeese on Tuesday night in Lake Charles

Just cleaning through some housekeeping items earlier in the week I'm pretty sure Abilene Christian is NCAA division 1.  I know they were last year unless they dropped back down.
