Cheyney withdrew from the NCAA last spring. They dropped all their sports except basketball and volleyball. They are now unaffiliated with any national organization or conference.

And Frostburg will be headed to D2 next year I believe.

That is their hope ... they haven't even formally applied (or had that application formally received). That needs to happen (deadline is Feb. 1) before DII will even consider it. That then start the clock and the decision from DII won't happen until July.

So ... they are hoping.

That doesn't mention the discontent on campus and elsewhere about this decision.

Pfeiffer wins a couple of high scoring games the past two days. Do they play The System?

No, they just run.  It's getting a lot tougher to distinguish between "The System" and other pace and space philosophies these days - partly because Dave Arsenault, Jr. is incorporating a lot of NBA principles at Grinnell.  Whitman and Grinnell don't look that different, at least in what they're trying to do right now.  Maybe some of that is due to Vinny Curta's skill set, but I think the numbers are just winning out.  Grinnell recognizes the value of an open layup and other teams are recognizing that an open three is better than a contested two.

Florida College is now in an NAIA conference (Southern States Athletic Conference). Not sure if double affiliation or not.
