Congrats to all three new Hall of Fame inductees.

Rhodes, you do an excellent job monitoring the games tracked on this board.  As someone who has plumbed the depths of those Maine-Machias and Grace Bible websites for missing scores, I appreciate the work you do.  And I'll confess that I've even swiped your scores for our scoreboard on occasion.

Frank, you do a great job providing interesting, candid and on-point insight for football and basketball.  You're one of the posters whose posts I read regularly because I know you "aim to please" as you like to say.

And DHF, you typify what makes this site a lot of fun -- a passionate, thoughtful, interesting fan that we can interact with over 100s or 1000s of miles.  If there's ever a book about D3sports Message Boards, you'll have to write the forward.

Dave, of course, will do the historical research.  :)

Whoa - Clermont strikes again. They must have played horribly against Wabash, or the HCAC isn't that great.

Here's Cincinnati-Clermont's results against D3 teams this season:

11/20WilmingtonL 61-75
11/25HanoverL 70-100
11/26CentreL 69-83
12/8WabashL 51-83
12/18Rose-HulmanL 60-70
12/21Thomas MoreW 88-66
12/29Grove CityW 87-82
12/30BlufftonL 74-76
1/13Mount St. JosephW 83-77

My guess is that Cincinnati-Clermont is a young team that is now beginning to gel in midseason. Both their recent results and their roster (no seniors, only one junior) would seem to bear that out.

The Cougars were in the USCAA national championship game last season, and are 10-0 in their league this season, for whatever that's worth.

They're also trying to get into Division III, so someday they'll be off this list.

Having seen them - they are young - but they didn't seem to have much discipline nor direction.

I'm not disputing your assessment of the Cougars, but Bluffton and Mt. St. Joe are the co-leaders of a historically strong league that collectively went 52-24 in non-conference play this season. So Cincinnati-Clermont must be doing something right.

Links to a couple of articles on the Fisk-TSU basketball game/rivalry last night.  Great game in front of a packed crowd and a great college atmosphere with the TSU band playing soo loud that you couldn't hear and the fraternaties stepping around the arena in the upper deck (8,700+ fans attended for the mens' game) but both the Fisk men's and women's teams lost to Tennessee State University.

I saw UC-Clermont play two games in the Bluffton Holiday tournament -- beating Grove City and narrowly falling to Bluffton.  I agree with smedindy that they are a bit undisciplined, but they have some good shooters and can be dangerous when they get hot.  (One of their players came off the bench to hit 3-4 from three-point range against Grove City, and then went 3-5 against Bluffton.  I note, though, that his name is no longer on their roster.)

They do have a problem with depth; they only played 7 players against Bluffton.  Against GC, they had three starters with 3 fouls each in the first half.  Somehow, only one of them fouled out in the second half, while the other two were on the floor for most of the rest of the game--18 and 20 minutes.  That made all the difference in the second half.  (That, and GC shooting 45.8% from the FT line.)

I haven't seen a box score for the MSJ/UC-Clermont game, so I don't know what factors contributed to that result.
