I deleted the absolutely blatant taunting post from earlier today. This isn't junior high, people.

I think RC will beat BU on Sat. in a close game.

I was suprised to see AU losing to Eureka lastnight.  I thought AU would be really focused after giving RC its 1st conference loss.  I guess that's why they play the games.  :o

Great game at the Edgedome on Saturday!  Exciting to the last minute.  If they would have played another 5 minutes there is no telling who would have won that game.  This sets up an interesting game on Wednesday up at Lakeland, not to mention some other important games down the stretch for the teams on top.  Any predictions?

Feb. 8    Edgewood @ Lakeland*
Feb. 8    Marian @ Concordia (Wis.)*

Feb. 11    MSOE @ Lakeland*
Feb. 11    Wis. Lutheran @ Edgewood*

Feb. 13    Edgewood @ Marian*
Feb. 13    Lakeland @ Maranatha*
Feb. 13    Wis. Lutheran @ Concordia (Wis.)*

Good luck to everybody!

Feb. 8    Edgewood @ Lakeland*    <<<<<< LC by 5
Feb. 8    Marian @ Concordia (Wis.)*<<<<<  CUW by 10+

Feb. 11    MSOE @ Lakeland* <<<<<<  LC by 15
Feb. 11    Wis. Lutheran @ Edgewood*<<<<<WLC by 3

Feb. 13    Edgewood @ Marian*<<<<EC by 10
Feb. 13    Lakeland @ Maranatha*<<<<<<  LC by 24
Feb. 13    Wis. Lutheran @ Concordia (Wis.)*<<<<<  CUW by 3 @ the buzzer

Thats about it.  Im just so excited to see that there is another person on here.  I suppose it is an interesting time since there is the potential for a four way tie for first if LC doesnt come up big with a win tonight.

Great off night for WLC.  Anytime you can not suit up and still improve your position in the standings is a good time.   Will provide some excitement for their games at CUW and EC to finish the season.

What happened at CUW?  I think I saw MC have all 5 starters in double digits, 9-15 from 3, outrebounding CUW by 2 (35-33), and 12 steals.  MC is a scary team to play.  Beware everyone in the tourney.

Good luck again to everyone this weekend.

Warrior Fish, you were pretty close on the LC score, though it prolly didn't look like it would be that close when they threw up 37 at halftime.  Then you totally missed on the CUW score, but who would have guessed they would have such a let down after such a great game down at EC?

Let's see what happens between WLC and EC this weekend.  It will be a tough time to catch Edgewood after a 2 game skid at home, though I bet WLC had some eyes at tonight's game.

Wow...imagine d3d3 and I agreeing on something!

Your Regents still have the most talent of any team in the NIIC and should definately be the favorite Saturday versus BU.  It looks like RC can find many ways to beat you.  BU might have one of - if not the most - consistent threats in the NIIC in Curtis, but RC has the deepest team.  If Strunz is off, it seems like you get Butler or Jones or someone else to pick it up.  For that reason alone, I don't think the game will be that close.

I think RC's biggest worry is what to do with the day off with the bye as the #1 seed.  The real battle heading into the NIIC tournament is for the #2 slot.  As I said before, on the regional or national level RC is average now..but when it comes to the NIIC they are still the best team by far (which, unfortunately, doesnt say much for the state of women's hoops overall in the NIIC).

another inexcusable loss, another misserable coaching job. How can a coach do so well one year and  have no clue the next year. Maybe Dormans ego wasn't the only one out of control. The direction this team's underclassmen is going he will be lucky to field a team next year. If he wan'ts out of Rockford his credibility sure took a big hit this year. ??? :( >:( :( ??? :-[

Fish,
Don't hurt yourself backing up over that  "edgewood's season was a fluke" comment....looks like teh ship is headed in the right direction..Megan Scheele, ROY

Um,  dont look know Keith, but your team lost.  A nice effort, but the championship game will be @ LC.  What a year.

dropkick11

Regentfan, aren't you being a little harsh on the coach...He built that program up from nothing and had it in the NCAA's last year...Whatever issues are going on team wide, he shouldn't take the brunt of it...a look at their record this year and it isn't that bad....He may have applied for other jobs which is his right..Don't see why the hostility now..Last year it was all kisses and hugs...Could we say you are a fair-weather regentfan???

any predictions for Saturday's game at LC?

Any predictions for POY, ROY, All Conf?

I'll just say it once:  I told you so.

Rockford - without Dorman - is an average team in a below average league.

Dropkick11...how can you not see how a coach has responsibility for the direction a team takes?  A coach sets the tone, makes the decisions, "manipulates" the individuals into what he or she wants them to be and sets the rules.  I once heard a coach say it's a "dictatorship not a democracy"...and in that case a coach has to take responsibility because - logically - you can't have it both ways.  Also, a team that's lost three of it's last four games - including a 13-point loss to the league's last place team - is hardly having a good year.  I refer you to a previous post to take a realistic look at their record and the fact that most of the teams they have played are below .500.  Hey, water seeks it's own level.

Maybe all the slams on Dorman were a bit premature.  If she had an "ego" she would have just played the season to run up her stats & honors, and would have ignored whatever circumstances made her decide to walk away from the game.  In other words, don't confuse being a competitor with being egotistical.  Oh, there's "egotism" on the RC team...but it wasn't Dorman...and "regentfan1" finally saw it!

don't want to play for a short... short...

man :o

auballer

Featheredfriend, considering you are the former Rockford SID, you sure like to rip on a man that has done an unbelievable job in his tenure as RCs coach.

My prediction:  AU vs. BU in conference tourney championship!

dropkick11

I was not saying that the coah has no responisibility...What I was saying is that you need to look at a whole career there not just a season...where was Rockford before he got there?......As far as the team issues, a coach has some responsibilitiy but what about the players....If selfishness was on the club don't they need to take some resposiibility for that..A coach cannot watch his team 24/7....I am jsut saying that he has a proven record at Rockford and his accomplishments should not be boiled down to one game..Bad season, maybe, bad career there, remains to be seen..

I don't know how you have any proof of that. The e-mail address is pretty generic, there's no real name attached to it.

Perhaps some proof would be appropriate rather than allegations.

dropkick11-
I don't disagree with you at all about the coach's career and what he has done with the program.  We were only talking about the season at hand and my point was that - right or wrong - a coach is responsible for their team.  It sucks when the "off court" detracts from the team, but ultimately coach's are held still held responsible.  Again, I totally agree with you about the coach's career...but tend to disgree on your view on the current season.

"auballer"...keep guessing!  And why do you care who the poster is anyway? Couldn't you find a way to express an inteligent argument on the discussion topic as "dropkick11" did? I mean, seriously, I've heard people speculate on who you really are and your relationship to the AU team...but I don't see how it's even relevant.  Everyone has a right to their opinions and discuss them, correct?
