I stand corrected. Francois was a good 3-point shooter for Edgewood. Marian got hot late last season and knocked WLC out of the playoffs before being shut down by Lakeland. I hope WLC has some freshmen coming in. The additional depth would be a bonus.

See how this passes for an "All-Name LMC-NAC" team (mostly basketball)

Kim (007) Bond--Maranatha-- (3 point threat during her playing days)
Courtney Femling-MSOE--star player
Melissa Fleming-Dominican (try saying "Femling vs. Fleming" 10 times fast-a broadcaster's tongue-twister).
Janelle Lydell--WLC (no joke) point guard on team that went to Nationals in 1999-2000. (Has a ring to it, anyway).
Amber Nero--Concordia (softball): Has she per chance heard of Jim Rome? (I won't go any further with that one).

(Drum rim-shots/tomato throws optional. I can hear the Jimmy Durante keyboard music playing as I'm being dragged off the stage with a cane.)

That's pretty good.........the only one I might add to that is another recent player from WLC - Kami Ten Pas

There are 2 others I could put on for a little bit of depth:

Lea Colon-Alverno:  point guard (perfect for grammar and punctuation afficionados.)
Chris DemoGiorgias-Dominican: center (rebounder/shot-blocker).

I realize it'd be a roster loaded with guards, but the 3 or 4 more names I could add are for players way out of region.

Any news on Lakeland recruits? I saw one was posted in the recruiting news a while back, but haven't heard of any since. They need to reload!

Noticed Rockford stayed "in house", moving one of their assistants to the top spot. Barring injury the Regents' women's team shouldn't miss a beat if everyone comes back. ;) (Illinihoops4, was this what you referred to on 8/10? It just showed up on the NAC website today. (/url]

Yes, that's what I was referring too. I don't really think it was a great hire, but we'll see. Any pre season news? From any team? Surely someone knows something by now!

Well I expect that the Illinois schools from the NIIC will make things competitive...Concordia (WI), WLC should be tough from the old LMC...Concordia(Il), Aurora should do well...Watch out for Dominican because the old coach there had a strong recruiting class(at least I heard that he had 10 new players) so they could surprise as could Benedictine...

WLCALUM83

Is Dominican's starting center coming back?

dropkick11

From what I know she is coming back..She will be a senior this year..And they have a bout 3 good post recruits from good programs in Illinois and one from Arizona I heard this summer..also a super quick pair of guards from that are small from Illinois(5'2")...I know the former coah there and he did a great job recruiting last year..too bad he ddin't get to see this team together. the new coach suhould consider herself lucky cuz most times when you start a new job the cupboard is kinda bare..

A little more fuel to add to the potential dogfight.  8)

After catching a few games last season I don't think their center had too much of an impact on some of the top teams in the conference. If she's improved over the off season it may be a different story. They had a pretty good three point shooter that kept many games closer than they may have been and Koziol (sp?) was decent. Unless any of their recruits are impact players I don't see DU climbing the ladder too quickly this season.
My pre-pre-season favorite is Concordia  Wisconsin.
